Osteria Porta di Bacco In Montepulciano

Really nice place in historical centre of Montepulciano, very close to public parking if you are coming by car. Food is delicious and service is okay. Tried their rack of lamb, which was very nice, cooked just up to the right point. Wine is great just like everwhere in Tuscany.

Very nice and typical place. Professional staff and attentive service. Very abundant and tasty starter. Difference in quantity in the first course, in our opinion piccio too abundant and spaghetti too little, both certainly good! Value for money in line with others in the area.

Had lunch during a visit to Montepulciano with friends. Very nice dishes, great choice of wines.

Incredible experience, exquisite dishes and super generous portions. The cooking of the meat was simply perfect, it melted in your mouth... We also stayed with our dog and everyone was super kind and courteous. Where to eat in Montepulciano? Definitely here!

When you understand it, it's a must to stop by, extraordinary food, beautiful and well-kept environment, impeccable service not to mention the cellar and the service regarding the wine top marks!!! I highly recommend it!!!

Andrea's restaurant is the highlight of our visits to Montepulciano! He and his staff are welcoming, kind, attentive, give great suggestions and will make sure you have the best experience. The handmade pasta is some of the best we've had in Tuscany, and Andrea recommended the rabbit (many of us have never had it before) and it was the star dish at the table! We had: the vegetable flan, hand-pulled pici with classic Tuscan ragout, fresh spaghetti alla chitarra with white goose ragout and black garlic cream, nettle gnocchi with saffron cream, chives and crispy bacon, suckling pig with garden vegetables, apple and mustard, beef with spinach, the rabbit spacial and side of roasted potatoes. Beautiful wine cellar, high quality Tuscan cuisine, and a great spot for the kids to explore all the artefacts displayed on the way to the bathroom. You can't miss this spot!

Think about the flavor and multiply it! This is the place. The pasta is cooked to perfection, the ragù melts in your mouth, the service is wonderful, everyone is super friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is spectacular and takes you back in time, and the flavor is something you'll want to eat while praying. I miss Tuscany ♥️ I highly recommend it.

Location: incredibile, colpisce in ogni angolo del locale. Servizio: gentilissimo il personale di sala, lento nel portare le pietanze. Cibo: NI! Prezzi e location fanno pensare a qualcosa di diverso. Gli gnocchi di zucca erano ‘duri’ e poco saporiti (nonostante il Blue di capra), la fiorentina era un po’ ‘nervosa’. Ottima la parte del filetto (quasi inesistente), meno la parte del controfiletto.

Abbiamo prenotato la cena qui dopo aver letto le molte recensioni positive pubblicate, che intendo ora confermare! Il locale è molto caratteristico, i tavoli sono posizionati in più stanze sotto le volte dell’antica struttura, il personale è attento e competente. Si può scegliere un menu degustazione oppure il menù alla carta. Noi abbiamo optato per il secondo, io ho preso i pici al ragù toscano -squisiti e abbondanti- e il mio ragazzo il maialino, ugualmente molto buono. Abbiamo poi chiuso la cena con i classici cantucci e vin santo e accompagnato il tutto con una bottiglia di rosso di Montepulciano, spendendo poco meno di 100€; prezzo adeguato alla location e alla qualità e quantità del cibo. Consigliato!
