In my opinion, this is the best Osteria in the Castelli Romani. I was fortunate enough to dine here under the careful guidance and expert advice of owner Fabrizio, a delightful person who immediately makes you feel at home. The location is spacious and well-maintained, with a very convenient private parking lot in the back. The menu offers many dishes, including typical Roman cuisine, but not limited to. The restaurant features a large grill used for both meat and seafood. The food is truly exquisite, with a special mention for the wild boar steaks—the desserts are also excellent. Overall, the best choice we could have made, and we'll definitely be back!

I ordered takeout from La Vecchia Cantina.
When I went in to pick up my order, I found myself in a very charming osteria, a truly beautiful location in my opinion.
Even though I was only there to pick up my order, the staff welcomed me like few places these days, making me feel almost pampered, and they catered to my every need impeccably.
I ordered tagliolini with traditional ragù, a carbonara, and a mixed grill.
The pasta was very good, and despite the drive home (about 15 minutes), it kept perfectly.
The same goes for the mixed grill, which was simply fantastic. The meat was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth.
Highly recommended!

I visited La Vecchia Cantina, on the outskirts of Genzano, in a quiet area where you can still breathe the authentic atmosphere of the Castelli Romani, far from the chaos but easy to reach.
As soon as I entered, I immediately felt a sense of warmth: a rustic atmosphere, wooden beams, and walls that tell a story of wine and tradition. This isn't a place built to impress with special effects, but to make you feel at home. And that means a lot to me.
I chose to start with typical appetizers: fresh, flavorful cured meats, accompanied by fragrant bread that smelled like a real oven. Then I moved on to a traditional Roman first course: perfectly cooked pasta, generously seasoned yet balanced. You could tell the cuisine is rooted in the local area, without unnecessary modern interpretations.
The meat was the real surprise: tender, juicy, and carefully cooked. Even the house wine, served at just the right temperature, perfectly complemented the meal, reminding us that we are in a land where wine is culture before it is a drink.
I found the service friendly and direct, without excessive formality but with genuine attention to the customer. The timing was just right, without rushing but also without endless waits.
The value for money, for what I ate, was absolutely fair. Generous portions and consistent quality.
If I had to find a small criticism, perhaps the ambiance could use a little updating in some details, but at the same time, that slightly "lived-in" feel is part of its character.
Would I return? Yes, especially when I'm craving authentic Roman cuisine, solid dishes, and a simple, familiar, authentic atmosphere. A place that doesn't need to shout to be remembered.

I've been there several times, and the friends I've recommended it to do the same for their friends. What can I say? Go there, you won't regret it.
