My only regret was not being able to sit down, but I loved the duck bigoli and the beef tartare. Fantastic staff and excellent wine; I recommend the Tai Rosso. I hope to return soon, but remember to book! A true osteria of the past, highly recommended.

Disproportionate prices: €260 for 5 people compared to the tasteless food.
Let's start with the positives: service and location. Unfortunately, despite the good reviews, I was surprised by the tasteless food, which was absolutely not worth the price. We ordered mixed appetizers, which were fine. I ordered dry, flavorless donkey stew and tiramisu, which had some strange base. For €260, I won't be returning.

Weekday dinner, a truly positive experience.
The menu features just a few dishes, just enough to ensure attentive service and attention to detail.
Appetizer: fried polenta with cod, flavorful and well-balanced.
First course: pumpkin gnocchi with taleggio cheese and turnip greens, fresh and rich in flavor.

I went for dinner three nights on January 3rd, 4th, and 5th. The atmosphere was quaint, the staff friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, from appetizers to desserts. Reservations are required as it's always busy.

Osteria Monelli is a welcoming and well-kept place, with an authentic and pleasant atmosphere. The cuisine is excellent, with carefully prepared dishes using quality ingredients. The service is friendly and attentive, perfect for a relaxed evening in excellent company. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, I have to edit my review from 2 years ago because we returned in January 2026, dining for eight for lunch. At the end, we asked if it was possible to tally up the portions per person for payment, and we were granted this. Unfortunately, each portion was rounded up by 13 cents, and the individual portion was charged an additional 10 euros. It was definitely a mistake, but coming from Milan and realizing it when the restaurant was closing time, I emailed (almost 10 days ago) and have received no response... disappointing. So, despite the excellent quality of the food, I suspect that next year we will opt for another equally good restaurant in the center of Vicenza.

Nice atmosphere, tables a bit close together, good service. The bigoli with duck ragù, cotechino, and horseradish were good. The portion was small and I didn't taste the horseradish. The potato side dish was small, and the dessert portions and the coppa and cheese appetizer were also small.

All the dishes I and the rest of the group enjoyed. The cooperation and clarity regarding allergens were appreciated. Even though people with allergies are a minority of the population, it's definitely reassuring to find a restaurant well-prepared for those with these dietary needs (not choices).
