An excellent combination: family recipes, predominance of local, fresh ingredients, with their own olive oil and wine: how could it not be delicious! For some reason we were the only visitors among local diners-families.

The rating would be 4 stars if it weren't for the fact that I took the platter as an appetizer but it still arrived without burrata, which was seen in the many review photos. I then had to ask why it was missing and I was told "they have few in the kitchen and we put the ricotta for you". Hahahaha why me and without asking?
However, it was brought after my note.
The cutting board itself is excellent, very high quality of the cured meats and cheeses. The scalfuni were also excellent, really excellent flavor and paired with the perfect seasoning!
The only thing I didn't like was that the chef(?) who brought the first courses was too arrogant with the Milanese waiter boy in front of the customers, it's not nice and it didn't happen just once.
Cover cost 3 euros each, a bit excessive.

Ostuni, rispetto a quando ci venni una quindicina di anni fa è stata trasformata in una ristorantopoli. Azzeccarne uno che non sia turistico sembrerebbe un’impresa. Ma in Puglia anche nel ristorante più turistico si mangia comunque bene. Una delle meraviglie di questa terra. Ad attrarci è un locale nello stile di quelli delle isole greche, in uno stretto vicolo il salita con i tavolini messi su delle pedane per livellare. E anche il vento oggi sembra quello dell’Egeo.
Alle Monacelle non solo si mangiano piatti della cucina tradizionale pugliese, ma i prodotti sono tutti a km zero della masseria di proprietà: le Cantine Amalberga. Tutto da orgasmo papillare, come scriverebbe Roberto Soldatini, a cominciare dall’antipasto: Fav e Fogghje, ossia la versione locale di fave e cicoria, con cipolle e frigitelli.
Oltre a questo le melanzane ripiene (in realtà sono a barchetta), poi : i maltagliati con gamberi rossi e le orecchiette: fatte in casa, integrali e con tantissime cime di rapa.
