Welcoming environment with friendly, friendly and helpful staff. The dishes are all very good, a bit reminiscent of grandma's good home cooking. The prices are fair for the quality and above all the quantity of the portions.

Posto accogliente con un personale gentile e simpatico. I piatti semplice e molto buoni i pezzi giusti per la qualità e la quantità delle porzioni. Per politica aziendale l'acqua non viene fatta pagare. Buonissime le verdure e le polpette sbagliate. Ottime le orecchiette .

If you want an informal, genuine and welcoming experience, this is the right place. At a shared table we enjoyed typical Matera dishes with Lucio Dalla in the background and the waiters' pleasant, successful attempt to put everyone at ease.

Perhaps the only truly authentic place in Matera. You eat "like at grandma's house", genuine dishes, authentic just like the owners. A beautiful evening and one that I recommend to anyone who wants to eat well in a non-touristy place.

We spent yesterday evening in this tavern, and it was a pleasant discovery. We felt welcomed and at home! Really delicious and well cooked dishes! The evening was completed by live music and entertainment by the talented Giuseppe and Valerio! Highly recommended!

Osteria spartana, essenziale, sembra di essere tornati indietro nel tempo. Si trova a pochi metri dal cuore dei sassi, vicino alla piazza Vittorio Veneto. Menù tipicamente e genuinamente materano, polpette di pane buonissime, altrettanto i primi e lo spezzatino con patate, dolce del giorno buono. Personale gentilissimo. Rapporto qualità/prezzo ottimo. Una delle sorprese del nostro soggiorno in città. Complimenti. Consigliatissimo

Gran Caffè Essential

21/02/2025: Ottima pasticceria. La ragazza che ci ha servito ci ha descritto nei dettagli ogni singolo dolce. Ogni pasticcino aveva un sapore diverso e gli ingredienti si distinguevano perfettamente. Provengo da una zona della Campania dove il livello della pasticceria è alto; con grande piacere lo riscontro anche al Gran Caffè Essential. Complimenti.
13/02/2025: A very intimate place, it recalls the literal cafés of times gone by... you can study there, you can organize your work, it's an excellent bar to consume from a simple work break to an aperitif with friends, to a tet a tete with your partner.... It's an absolute must try!
