Spartan, essential tavern, it seems to have gone back in time. It is located a few meters from the heart of the Sassi, near Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Typically and genuinely Matera menu, delicious bread balls, as are the first courses and the stew with potatoes, a good dessert of the day. Very kind staff. Excellent quality/price ratio. One of the surprises of our stay in the city. Compliments. Highly recommended

In the heart of Matera, this splendid and spartan tavern offers traditional dishes and an intimate, family-friendly venue. Very nice managers, superlative cook, large and vast variety of vegetarian dishes. Absolutely try the vegetables, the lying meatballs, the aubergine cutlets and the feta and aubergine orecchiette! One of the most exquisite dinners in Matera

THE TAN. The shared table is the most normal and at the same time anachronistic thing compared to the reality in which we live. Everything I ate amazed me. PS: good house wine

Beautiful trattoria in the historic center of Matera. Welcoming, soft environment, managed with friendliness and professionalism. Excellent food quality, home-made flavors (extraordinary bread balls, ditto for the Matera-style baked pasta and also the apple pie). The value for money is also excellent. Compliments !

Sono stata in questa osteria con mia mamma,che dire...serata strepitosa! Abbiamo mangiato molto bene,un antipasto (le polpette alla bugiarda) e poi due secondi che ci siamo divise,tra cui il gateau che vedete in foto! Un valore aggiunto a tutto ciò Giuseppe,numero uno della sala,simpaticissimo e super gentile! Tornerei sicuramente e lo consiglio vivamente!

03/11/2024: Fantastic discovery to say the least! We were in the village for a short stay, fantastic welcome, everyone was super kind and friendly, food beyond expectations! Small tip, try all the starters, they are exceptional, the first course with crusco pepper is delicious. If we are passing through or in the surrounding area, Il Caminetto will be our fixed stop! 02/09/2024: For those who want to enjoy good food and an amazing atmosphere overlooking the sea! It stands out for the quality of the fresh products, the hospitality and kindness of Alessandro, the owner, always attentive to the customer's needs and available for any request. We chose a seafood appetizer (with cold samples) and two first courses. The appetizer is rich in dishes: octopus (exquisite), mussels, swordfish, local pilchard and many other delicacies, all delicious, accompanied by a good white wine recommended by Alessandro. And then the first ones... One more enjoyable than the other! A classic seafood dish and cuttlefish ink with burrata and red prawn tartare... DIVINE!!! The prices are very honest. Definitely recommended place!
