Osteria L'Upupa In San miniato

A beautiful little restaurant, small but very welcoming. The menu features traditional dishes, absolutely fantastic! We tried the mixed antipasto (crostino with chicken livers, horse meat salad with truffle and parmesan, pecorino, fennel, and prosciutto, and legumes cooked in a saucepan), followed by pici with wild boar, tagliatelle with truffle, rabbit, and peposo. The selection of coffees was very pleasant, certainly unusual! The price was absolutely reasonable, highly recommended!

What a wonderful restaurant. We were warmly welcomed, a small, authentic and very nice restaurant at more than affordable prices. We feel at home. The food is fabulous (we had the gnocchetti cacio, pepe, pere e noci and the ravioli porri e pancetta, fabulous ❤️ I wish a restaurant experience was always like this 😊 Grazie mille Osteria Upupa, we will be back 😊

A tiny restaurant well worth the detour. Everything was perfect: succulent Tuscan antipasto and incredible ravioli porri e pancetta. A must-try if you're passing through San Miniato.

Wow! What a meal! This was hands down the best gnocchi I’ve ever had in my life. The pica with wild boar was also very flavorful and filling. Dessert wasn’t that great but to be honest I was so full and satisfied from dinner that it didn’t matter!

It's hard to find the words to describe this place, and perhaps saying "magical" wouldn't do it justice. If you're looking for the best restaurant in San Miniato or the best osteria in San Miniato, it should rightfully be on the podium. I think I had one of the tastiest meals I've ever had. Aside from the typical Tuscan appetizer of cured meats and cheeses, the sliced beef with truffle was simply sublime, soft, delicate, and melted in my mouth. As soon as I finished it, I couldn't help but think, "I'd eat another." The first course (I don't remember the type of pasta), also with truffle, was also spectacular and not at all heavy. So, if you want to eat truffles, this is the place. The staff was very helpful and friendly, from the young man and woman who welcomed and served us, to the two gentlemen, I assume the managers. The restaurant is dog-friendly, and we were even given a bowl of water and a biscuit at the end. The setting is typical of an osteria, with magazines, pennants, and signs reminiscent of the world of Formula 1 and car racing, as well as countless signs and plaques with amusing slogans. The price is absolutely fair and worth everything we tasted. Be wary of anyone who gives 3 stars or less. If it's true that in Tuscany you always end up on your feet with the food, here it was a dream worth experiencing again.

A small restaurant with just a few tables (reservations are highly recommended) and a very unique atmosphere. The staff is very friendly, and the owner is a wonderful person. The dishes are traditional Tuscan, all very good.

The place is run by young and very kind guys. Good value for money. I recommend it.

Pranzo di Pasqua a San Miniato,cercavamo un posto con atmosfera dove mangiare cucina tipica e magari assaggiare il famoso tartufo . In giro per l’aperitivo ci imbattiamo in questo locale piccolo ma molto caratteristico dove chiediamo senza troppe speranze se c’è un tavolo per due ,fortunatamente lo troviamo. Di lì ad un’ora siamo seduti subito accolti dalla simpatia e gentilezza dei titolari,sorrisi spontanei e atmosfera rilassata. Budino di polenta al taleggio con tartufo notevole. Ravioli alla crema di porri deliziosi e uovo al tegamino con tartufo e purea con tartufo semplicemente strepitosi!!! Il tutto condito con ottimo Vino in un servizio fatto di cortesia e professionalità…. Veniva voglia di tornarci subito.Bravi!

Tutto buonissimo, cibo di qualità... complimenti allo chef e a tutto il personale cordiale e accogliente. Le pietanze sono abbinate perfettamente creando un tripudio di sapori e soddisfacendo le nostre aspettative. Da ritornare!
