Osteria l'Imbarco In Viareggio

The food was excellent, unsalted and not too sweet. The atmosphere was friendly. The service was disappointing. We were asked to pay at the register instead of at the table (but that's generally OK). We paid cash, and instead of a 2-euro coin, they gave us a car wash token as change. They also gave us a paper suitcase with the words "This is a gift for you." We opened it and found just a paper bill, with the total for dinner being 1 euro less than what we paid. These guys are weird.

A delightful discovery, a well-kept venue, friendly and attentive service, and excellent seafood cuisine. Unsolicited but much-appreciated extras were the prosecco and the welcome drink, but especially the little gift left at the cash register when you received your receipt, "so you can remember us forever." What can I say? You did it! Not pictured, but the penne with octopus ragù was also noteworthy.

We found this place out of nowhere on the internet, and it's truly exceptional. We're a couple from Brescia. They greeted us immediately upon entry with water and bread, and then we moved on to the complimentary starter. We ordered two appetizers, a first course, and a second course. Overall, each one better than the other, with very good, fresh fish. We finished with a mascarpone cream dessert, and that, too, was absolutely delicious. I recommend everyone go at least once. We're going back again today for lunch to try the rest of the dishes. 😁

you eat really well, excellent service

...After the Viareggio Carnival Maracana, we deserved a little pampering...and here at the osteria, they didn't disappoint! We arrived a little early, and they greeted us with a smile, but they didn't seat us. Rightfully so, our reservation was for 9:00 PM, and we "tried" to be seated at 8:30 PM. No worries, they accompany you while you wait with a glass of prosecco, and, listen, Swiss as clockwork, at 9:00 PM our table was ready! Welcome, kindness, friendliness...everything was impeccable... ...and so were the dishes we chose. The tagliatella was amazing...the pennone (we folded this because they were all out of orecchiette) left no regrets... The tuna for the main course was truly a surprise...perfectly cooked! The only flaw was the mustard (but we discussed it over a grappa, and they agreed). We ended the dinner with a pear and cinnamon cake, which to call a "delicacy" is an understatement! The wine selection was also excellent! P.S. I'll be back to try the fried fish and orecchiette!!

The atmosphere and staff were very welcoming and attentive, meeting their guests' expectations. Prosecco and a welcome appetizer were served. Delicious fish dinner with a side dish and excellent wine. Definitely recommended!

If you’re in Viareggio, you’ve got to try Osteria l’Imbarco. It’s such a cool, easygoing spot with amazing seafood and super fresh fish — everything tastes like it came straight from the sea that morning. Grab a nice glass of white wine, relax, and just enjoy. The staff are really friendly and make you feel at home right away. Honestly, it’s one of those places you’d happily go back to every night while you’re there.

Otherwise, highly recommended.

Excellent food, a friendly, family atmosphere, warm, welcoming hospitality—everything was perfect. I recommend the fregola with shellfish, and the fritto misto is also excellent. Rating: 10/10
