I had been there a few years ago and I liked it. I went back a few days ago and everything was confirmed, even better. Very good and plentiful dishes, impeccable service and honest bill. The fried food is truly excellent, very good mixed starter, excellent and homemade walnut gnocchi. Very good and equally plentiful desserts. Furthermore, what should not be underestimated is the environment and the context: quiet and friendly where you feel good and eat with pleasure. Restaurant to recommend and to return often.

Abbiamo pranzato in questo ristorante su consiglio di un'amica che aveva già mangiato qui. Tutto ottimo ma segnalo i crostini di polenta al ragù, l'arrosto misto e la carne fritta. Servizio veloce e cortese, prezzo giusto.

02/03/2025: Already famous for an amazing selection of craft beers, the other pleasure at Bottega Matta is Mamma in the kitchen making the truly traditional dishes of the zone. Silvio is the maestro of beers and has won me over with different tastes every time (and I go often!). Don't miss this treasure, just 5 minutes from Montepulciano.
26/12/2024: An amazing place with a fantastic owner! I think we'll meet again next Boxing Day. Even my little girls tasted the wonderful beers and we all came out singing.

LA MANGIATOIA

05/06/2025: There are lots of places to eat in San Gimignano, with a mix of touristy spots on the main streets. But head to the top of the town and turn off the main drag and you'll find La Mangiatoia tucked away round a quiet corner serving good quality Tuscan food for a fair price. Nice service by the owners and staff. Highly recommend. We had 2 pasta dishes and they were both excellent.
01/06/2025: Fantastic restaurant, Antonella cooks divinely, Annalisa is a discreet but very prepared hostess, the staff is decidedly professional. Compliments as always!
