Osteria la Massaia In Roma

What a find! Situated in the suburbs of Rome this unassuming restaurant serves the best seafood. Service a bit disorganised by the staff but the owner, Gennaro, is friendly and welcoming and spoke good English! Menu all in Italian. We shared the octopus to start followed by the Grilled calamari with a side of caponata. Could not fault any of the food. Even the bread was very nice. The mystery remains of where the food is cooked, however, as the room downstairs looks like a construction site. Well worth the drive from Rome airport to have a meal there.

Cibo ottimo per qualità e preparazione, porzioni generose e servizio molto accogliente. Tuttavia non è un posto in si può andare di fretta perchè questa è l’unica pecca, ma tutto il resto anche la gradevolezza della terrazza vince alla grande. Gennaro è un padrone di casa molto affabile e bravo a consigliare anche i vini giusti, ma la sua particolarità è far sentire anche i nuovi clienti come se fossero vecchie conoscenze. Insomma dall’antipasto al dolce ce n’è per tutti i gusti e per il parcheggio non ci sono problemi!

Gennaro is always a guarantee! The summer terrace for dinner is the ideal solution for enjoying fish and one of the bottles from the rich list. Tonight I enjoyed all cold dishes, the temperature was high, so a plate of raw fish with tuna and amberjack tartare, scampi and prawns reigning supreme, a rich seafood salad, all accompanied by a glass of fiano and for conclude a fantastic babà!

The food is divine... true Neapolitan cuisine. We stumbled upon it by chance... but we will gladly return. PS... the waiter was very nice.

The terrace is really pleasant for having a summer dinner. Quality food and intense flavors of typical Campania cuisine. The first courses were excellent and the fish roll was really, really good. I lowered my rating a little because I noticed the service was a little too rough and distracted: we asked for a high chair 3 times before it was brought to us, waiting times were a little too long, the first courses arrived at two separate moments during the dinner and in fact the second course overlapped with some first courses. The wine that was brought to us was different from the one we asked for. The owner is affable, enterprising and engaging and is perhaps the real strong point of the restaurant. It's a place I would definitely return to and it would be nice to see a little more attention to some details.

Cosa dire sono una cosa da Provare e basta ristorante con Servizio sempre sul pezzo poche pietanze ma tutte di Grande livello. Metterò solo la foto del mio preferito SPAGHETTO ALLA GENNARO piatto vuoto andate a scoprirlo.
