Osteria il Carroccio In Siena

I enjoyed an excellent lampredotto (really, really good. If you like strong flavors or offal, like me, try it!), pici with Sienese ragù, and gnocchetti with pesto and truffles, all perfectly cooked... in short, love with flavor... local cuisine is confirmed as one of my favorites. A well-stocked selection of local wines. The staff is well-trained, professional, and friendly. The osteria doesn't have much seating inside, but they also set up tables outside. I recommend booking to ensure you can enjoy their cuisine in peace. This Sunday, I was also lucky enough to dine to the sound of the drums of one of the city's contrade (districts) marching in Piazza del Campo (I won't reveal the name to avoid confusion, but as a tourist, I'm not biased), which I deeply appreciated. I love events like this, and the combination of tradition and local cuisine only makes me love Tuscany more and more. Thank you, and I will definitely return to this restaurant as soon as I have the opportunity to pass through Siena!

Located on a side street off Piazza del Campo, as a Tuscan, I can finally say I've eaten authentic Tuscan cuisine! Despite its location, forget about the typical tourist restaurant. Here, the service is friendly and the food is authentic, all for a truly fair price.

The food was very good. I had the gnocchi with pesto and truffles and the tagliatelle with truffles.

This restaurant is located just steps from Piazza del Campo. The service was quick and friendly. The dishes are very tasty; the pici alla cacio e pepe were delicious, thank you. Prices are average, €9 for the dish. A 0.66 beer costs €4. A liter of water costs €2. If you find yourself in Siena, I highly recommend stopping by.

I must say that even though I chose almost at random, the food was delicious, both in terms of ingredients and how it was cooked. I ended up spending very little, considering it was right behind Piazza del Campo, and I drank half a liter of white wine and a glass of Chianti.

Terrace along the road, otherwise cozy interior. Good pasta and excellent tiramusu.

questa osteria, sita in via del Casato, a pochissimi metri dalla Piazza del Campo, il cui nome forse ha a che vedere col luogo dove è riposto, nei pressi, il famoso "carroccio" carro che sfila in Piazza al Palio trainato da buoi immediatamente prima della "carriera", non è come si potrebbe pensare, il classico ristorante turistico, come spesso accade con quelli in piazza, dove paghi anche la meravigliosa vista che vedi...è un piccolo ristorantino, con non molti coperti, pertanto si organizzano "a turni" almeno a cena (a pranzo non so) uno dalle 19,15 alle 21, l'altro dalle 21 in poi. può capitare quindi, se arrivi poco prima delle 21, di dover aspettare fuori qualche minuto, come è successo a noi. questo piccolo disagio però è ottimamente compensato dall'ottima cucina e da un servizio ben organizzato, piatti arrivati in tempi ottimali e tutti insieme. ottimo l'antipasto "carroccio" con assaggi di lampredotto, "tonno del chianti", salumi di ottima qualità sformatino e crostini, buonissimi i pici al pomodoro piccante con ricotta salata, e briciole (tradizionali) le tagliate, buono anche il coniglio. eravamo in tre, con mezzo litro di rosso e di bianco (della casa entrambi) , un antipasto (per due) un primo, un coniglio, due tagliate (una col tartufo) due dolci abbiamo speso in totale 127 euro, quindi più che onesto e, come detto, tutto buono. torneremo sicuramente e lo consigliamo (prenotando, ovviamente)
