Osteria Hladik In Tarvisio

An osteria with slightly above-average prices, as you might expect from a somewhat chic setting. We only ordered one dish each, so for six of us, we spent €27, considering that two of us had two appetizers and two of us were children. Perhaps the price of the recommended wine, which wasn't on the menu, should have been specified, but overall, it was a pleasant experience.

What a fantastic experience. From the moment I poked my head through the door, 10 minutes before opening, to see if we could come in from the cold, we received the most wonderful and generous hospitality I’ve experienced in a while. I asked for a recommendation for a local wine and was given a great choice. All the food was exceptionally good - the braised beef cheek was superb. At the end of the meal I mentioned to the owner how much we liked one of the items on the table setting and inquired whether we could buy some to take home to Australia with us. She hurried off to get some for me and came back and said they were a gift for us! Then, as we talked a little more, I mentioned we were in Tarvisio for an alpine skiing event for my daughter and she hurried off again and returned with another gift for my daughter - an official toque/ beanie and neck warmer from the FIS World World Cup that had been held in Tarvisio a couple of weeks ago. This restaurant and its owners are the true epitome of Italian hospitality - great food, exceptional service and a wonderful atmosphere with tables full and locals drinking and snacking at the bar. A must visit if you find yourself in Tarvisio 🙏👏

Truly a beautiful place, excellent food. I recommend the beef cheek, which is amazing paired with a delicious Gradis'ciutta Cabernet Franc. But above all, it's the warm welcome that will stay with you forever...
