Very good food, faithful to Roman cuisine, a little expensive

I highly recommend it from the welcome to the delicacy of the dishes which combine classic Roman cuisine with a refined search for ingredients combined by Chef Carlo. The restaurant is also a winning choice for the environment and the professionalism of the guys in the dining room. I will definitely be back to try new dishes that will surprise me with a smile and a slipper (which is obligatory) after warning of my need as a Celiac! See you soon ❤️

The first thing that strikes you as soon as you enter this tavern is the friendliness and ever-present smile of the dining room staff and the owner. As for the menu, entirely Roman, it is nothing short of exceptional and enjoyable. Very rich wine list. Staff not intrusive but very attentive to the needs of diners. What else to say??? Carlo, the chef and owner, is the perfect example of what Osteria Fra Pellizza represents: fantastic cuisine, in an informal but welcoming environment and a valid selection of wines. For years a point of reference for eating delicious dishes of Roman cuisine. Impeccable attention also for celiac customers (remember to mention this when booking to facilitate preparation).

You enter and you forget you are in Casteggio....nice and kind host and waiters....delicious dishes. We let Carlo advise us and we didn't go wrong, from the wine to the dessert, everything was a delight. We will definitely return.

From the outside you don't expect much, but inside it is very warm and welcoming. Lots of seating in different rooms or corner. Very nice and kind owner. Available waiters. Quality food up to par with true Roman cuisine. Wide choice of excellent wines. Highly recommended

Great find in Casteggio. Nice place and friendly host with "Roman style" service that makes you believe you are in Rome despite being in Oltrepo. I ate an excellent amatriciana; excellent selection of wines (local and otherwise). I'll be back!

Visto dall'esterno il locale non è di quelli che con luci colorate ed effetti speciali ti invitano ad entrare. Abbastanza spartano, suoni e ti vengono ad prire ma mai prima dell'orario di apertura. All'interno nelle varie salette, posti per pochi e per tanti, semplice arredo senza fronzoli come nello stile del proprietario. Menù vario dalla carne al pesce ti consente di crearti un percorso coerente con i desideri e gusti del momento. Interessanti anche i piatti estranei al territorio, cucina romana, reinterpretati con gusto e senza mai esagerare. Carta dei vini come pochi in Oltrepò ma ancor più interessante è il fatto che ha anche annate vecchie di assoluto valore. Per un appassionato, non sempre è facile trovare un vino all'altezza del cibo e che non sia l'ultima vendemmia. Un'ottima esperienza. Costo commisurato alle scelte.

Zingarando x i colli del pavese.... Serata calda caldissima all'insegna del partiamo e si vedrà....le mie preferite...la strada ci ha portato a soffermarci per un primo aperitivo a Stradella dove sotto un pergolato abbiamo iniziato a pensare alla cena...impresa non facile... Molti locali chiusi in settimana,atri completi e così il nostro girovagare fra vigneti e paeselli si è fatto ancora più divertente...una vera caccia al tesoro. Siamo approdati in questa osteria in cui si parla romano.... accoglienza calorosa e locale molto curato. Un menù vario e stuzzicante...piatti tutti buoni, nota di merito ai fusilli con ragù di polpo...da provare. Ottimo il conto...insomma siamo stati proprio bene! R+S=love❤️
