We had dinner at Don Peppe and it was absolutely delicious. The building is beautiful with a cozy atmosphere. Chef Vincenzo and his staff were incredibly welcoming and were happy to accommodate our request to get the pistachio pasta without prawns. The deserts we had were incredible and we could not more highly recommend Don Peppe. This is a small restaurant so it is best to make a reservation to ensure your seat.

Disappointed with our meal . . . The fish soup is actually a tomato broth with some seafood, shrimp, mussels, squid . . . Not very filling and very spicy. The octopus stew (well cooked) was bland and not very tasty, accompanied by a tasteless grilled vegetable . . . Apricot tart which is actually strawberry compote . . . The grilled tuna was good and the sliced ​​beef with mushrooms meh . . .

The Osteria is the restaurant of Vincenzo Ottomaniello, a chef with extensive experience in England and Apulia. We were looking for a place in Carovigno to escape the tourist crowds of Ostuni, and we were right. Vincenzo is creative and experimental, giving his Apulian dishes an original touch. I enjoyed the fish soup the most, but the pasta with pistachios and burrata and the beef fillet were equally excellent. The tiramisu is also homemade and delicious. The wine pairing, a Vermentino and a Primitivo, was very good. Vincenzo often comes out of the kitchen and chats amiably with his guests, which was a very pleasant surprise for us. Several of his guests are repeat customers—we will be too.

We had amazing pasta and also great steak & tuna steak. Went back 2 days later for lunch because we enjoyed it that much. Really deserves the good reviews.

We had an incredible experience at this osteria. The service was outstanding from start to finish, warm and attentive. The place is small, with just a few tables, which makes it feel cozy and personal. We were a group of six and shared several dishes, all of which were excellent. The fish soup was a true highlight—rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. To finish, the chocolate dessert was absolutely phenomenal. A hidden gem with fantastic food and atmosphere. This man can really cook sublimely, and he regularly checks with you how you like it. He's passionate about seeing you enjoy yourself. Don't miss it if you're in the area because he makes the very best pasta, but he also has something for everyone. He's a master chef, and for me, he's a chef.
