Osteria Dolce Vista In Valdobbiadene

One Sunday at the end of June I had lunch in this tavern with friends, the place was not air conditioned, but sometimes a little air came in from the doors left open which allowed us not to suffer too much, my companions decided to take a carpaccio and a veal with tuna sauce to share, and they found the dishes very good, I as a vegetarian opted for the Caponata, the only appetizer without meat selectable, unfortunately in the first course I found an unpleasant surprise between one aubergine and another, a nice green caterpillar substantial, I had to ask to bring me a new portion, after a few minutes of waiting the new dish arrived, together with the apologies of the waitress, very kind, the caponata was very good and tasty, if it were not for the presence of a second caterpillar, of the same family as the first, but smaller, unfortunately I had to send this dish back too and in agreement with the waitress to skip the appetizer, sadly I was not offered any dish as an alternative. At the time of the first courses everything was fine, no unwanted guests, lots of flavour in the only vegetarian dish selectable among the first courses, tortelli with courgettes, cherry tomatoes and cheese. Very good desserts, we decided to try them all and share them among us. Finally, probably due to a lack of communication between the waiters, kitchen and cashier, the appetizer that I was unable to eat was also added to my bill. When I pointed this out I immediately realised that the owner was unaware of the double mix-up that had occurred, but he promptly refunded me the exact amount of the appetizer. What can I say, certainly many inconveniences, but for what I managed to eat and for what my friends told me, everything was very good, a little air conditioning would have been appreciated, a few more apologies and last but not least, a small discount to make up for it.

We had lunch here in 4 by calling about 1 hour before. They "found" us a table. Very nice place but with little parking (5-10 seats). Terrace with tables in the garden overlooking the valley-hills. We chose the wine from their cellar (a decent selection of wines). 2 appetizers (1 tripe 1 carpaccio), 2 Florentine steaks, 4 coffees, water. Good service, always attentive. Excellent meat and appetizers too 60E per person We will gladly return

The restaurant itself has enormous potential. Both the interior and exterior are very well kept and the view is beautiful. The food is quality, simple but well done, very good. The service is quite lacking in my opinion. There was a strong lack of organization due to a lack of staff. Unfortunately, the wait was also very long, an hour and a quarter of waiting for the first ones. Fortunately I repeat that all the dishes were delicious.

Service not in line with the restaurant with unattentive staff. High prices for tavern dishes not to mention the drinks…
