Finally a change of management that enhances the place. Friendly staff, good food and, in some cases, a very honest price.

We were passing by and stopped for a bite. What can I say? Really good home cooking, good ossobuco.

A local man invited my friend and I to dine with him at Cane e Gatto 25+ years ago. This was my first trip to Italy and didn’t realize at the time how lucky we were to eat at this very local trattoria. There was no menu, so we enjoyed whatever the chef served us and I wish now I had taken photos because I can’t remember. I only know that every bite was delicious. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I hope to return one day to relive the experience.

Small restaurant with excellent regional specialties. The boss is super friendly and generous. Here we take the time to taste the dishes.

A Siena per lavoro 5gg e tra un vicolo e l’altro leggo Trattoria Cane e Gatto e penso..perché no !!! Non potevo sapere quanto il mio pensiero si sarebbe trasformato in casa,sorrisi ed ottima cucina per tutta la mia permanenza! Un grazie ai due splendidi Antonio e Pippo che mi hanno dato il calore di casa pur essendo lontano e che con i loro piatti mi hanno portato Siena a tavola.Assolutamente da provarela trippa fritta,trippa alla senese,pici al rugu’,maialino e tutta la loro serie di crostoni…un menu’ tutto da gustare insomma! Vino della casa buono ma il piatto migliore è stato il trattamento :accogliente,sorridente e sincero che mi ha completamente catturato tanto da sceglierli per tutte mie cene senesi.il conto poi una sorpresa,prezzi da vera trattoria come non se ne vedono più e qualità nei sapori e nella scelta degli ingredienti. Una vera tappa culinaria da tenere a mente durante una visita a Siena….noi sicuramente torneremo!!

Trattoria tipica senese. I piatti erano ottimi e abbondanti. Abbiamo preso un antipasto con trippa fritta e fiori di zucca fritti, di primo gli ziti all’ossobuco. Tutto molto buono. Non ci è piaciuto molto il vino della casa ma gusto personale.

Highly recommended. Very good food and a delicious house wine. The service from the owner was also good. He took the time to explain the dishes to us. Not a tourist restaurant. You eat among locals. Top!!! Unfortunately, we only discovered Cane e Gatto at the end of our vacation. Otherwise we would have come back more often.

Typical Sienese cuisine, Pippo and Antonio are the top! Once you try it, you have to come back and come back and then come back again! What can I say…. It's addictive!!
