Osteria di Bacco In Gianico

A truly special black truffle dinner.

We stopped at this lovely little restaurant by chance, thanks to a traffic jam on the SS42. We were the only guests, one midday before Ferragosto (August 15th), and we received a special welcome, pleasantly entertained by Mauro. We enjoyed excellent raw mushrooms with carpaccio (delicious), tagliatelle with porcini sauce (superb!), and fried and sautéed mushrooms (superlative!). A place we'll definitely return to.

Mauro and the stuff were simply fabulous. The service level, meals’ presentation and food quality were without any doubt the best we’ve experienced in all the region. I have food allergies and they took it very seriously and professionally.

Very good food in a pleasant atmosphere. The chef personally serves the food, the truffles are freshly grated onto the pasta, and the tagliata is cut at your table. A real insider tip. 😊

The setting has a lot of potential, as it's located in an ancient stone courtyard with a pergola, but unfortunately, the style of the location and the way the dishes are served are very 1970s. The truffles are good, but the other dishes are a bit too homemade, with somewhat limited portions and average prices.

I visited Gianico for the first time, accompanied by locals from Darfo Boario Terme. It's a wonderfully charming little village with a truly friendly atmosphere, which is authentically reflected in the Osteria di Bacco. Outstanding dishes, many of which are made with local produce, prepared and presented with loving attention to detail. Homemade. It was absolutely delicious, and the hosts were very warm and accommodating! Plus, there's a cozy atmosphere in the vaulted cellar, reminiscent of a grotto. I don't need to say anything about the wine—top quality! The dessert, varied and freshly prepared by the 87-year-old mother—is excellent! The prices—absolutely attractive!
