Osteria dello Sperone In Lonate pozzolo

I had a truly wonderful stay! The two hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming – their hospitality made me feel right at home from the very beginning. Everything I needed was provided, and the place was perfectly equipped for a comfortable and relaxing visit. I couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommended – I would definitely come back!

The property is very welcoming, just a few minutes from the airport (so convenient), although arriving late at around 11:00 PM was a bit dark... instructions were given to us by text message. Breakfast was already in the room (pastries, rusks, butter, jam (single-use boxes), just 2 slices of toast (which couldn't be reheated), 2 fruit juices, 2 small bottles of water, and coffee). The room is equipped with a coffee machine, refrigerator, fan, and air conditioning. Despite being a tavern, we had no contact with the owner except via text messages. Having paid online, the invoice was in the room. Everything was functional and suited to our needs... but unfortunately, also a bit impersonal... in the sense that it avoids contact with people... perhaps the thing that, besides the decor, is the breakfast items, is what really sticks in your mind about a place... but mine is just an opinion... anyway, recommended.

I was cycling and looking for accommodation about 20 km south of Sesto Calende. That's when I came across the Osteria dello Sperone. I was able to reserve my room directly with the landlady by phone. My arrival was expected, and I immediately felt welcome. I was glad that I had a room for the night and that the food was also provided at the Osteria. The Osteria serves almost exclusively unusual dishes. Dishes like pizza or spaghetti are nowhere to be found on the menu. So, I had to study the menu thoroughly to understand what was on offer. The food was excellent, as was the service. The room was the only one with a direct view of the Ticino River. I slept well, and everything was fine. Breakfast had to be taken in the room, and all the ingredients for breakfast were in the room. I'm not a fan of this type of breakfast. I would have loved to sit outside in the morning and have a fresh coffee and fresh croissants served to me. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible, and that's the only criticism I can make. Otherwise, I thank Marina and Mamika for their kindness and warm welcome. I can highly recommend this osteria to everyone.

Superlative lunch! We found Osteria dello Sperone somewhat by chance... and what a discovery! Let's start with the location: neat, clean, and well-organized, with a beautiful view of the Ticino River; you just cross the street to be on the riverbank. Fantastic service. The owner welcomed us, a simply delightful person who loves her job and is passionate about what she does. The food was meticulously prepared with balanced flavors. Beautiful day. I hope to return soon!

We went to eat at the Osteria dello Sperone a bit by chance, looking for a place near home, and it was a fabulous experience, superlative dishes with attention to detail and exceptional workmanship, both meat and fish, the exceptional wine list with whites, rosés and reds divided by region, the owner and the staff are praiseworthy, so what can I say, highly recommended, we will be back.

Uno dei ristoranti migliori in cui abbia mai mangiato. Sono tornata per la seconda volta e, ancora una volta, l’esperienza è stata incredibile. L’accoglienza e la gentilezza del personale sono fuori dal comune, ti fanno sentire davvero a casa. I piatti sono deliziosi, curati nei dettagli e ricchi di sapori autentici. Consiglio vivamente di provarlo almeno una volta nella vita: anche se, dopo una cena qui, è impossibile non voler tornare. La cucina è raffinata ma i prezzi restano accessibili, un’occasione unica per gustare i sapori della tradizione con un tocco di magia.
