Good food, relatively simple—in keeping with the concept of an osteria, so it's fair enough—and also quite traditional. I personally can't say I had a bad meal, but my colleague wasn't as pleased. The wine selection was good, and the cured meats and cheeses also seemed interesting, but we didn't try them (we opted for two courses plus dessert, so we sampled several dishes). The service was courteous and pleasant.
Given the location's historic character, we might have expected a more satisfying menu and a more aesthetically pleasing ambience, without losing the rustic feel of an osteria. The price was a bit high (but not by much, anyway) for what we ate and the ambience.

We happened upon it by chance one Sunday for lunch. We were welcomed and served with great kindness and hospitality. The dishes were delicious with generous portions. The cuisine is traditional, yet not lacking in attention to detail.

This charming restaurant with a long history offers traditional dishes. We enjoyed two excellent first courses (tagliatelle with duck and vegetable ragù and goat cheese-filled ravioli with artichoke sauce) and a tasting of Mantua parmesan with a side of rosemary-sautéed potatoes, which was also a hit. The service was prompt and courteous. Excellent value.

Excellent place to find traditional local cuisine at a good price; we went by chance over Valentine's weekend, and it was a bit crowded, and the staff was very friendly.
Fast (perhaps a little too fast due to the need to clear tables, but let's face it).
We found it very good.

A typical, pleasant restaurant serving traditional Mantuan dishes. The staff is very friendly and cheerful, always a joy to be around. The bread basket is magnificent, and the breadsticks are addictive. We ordered the mixed cured meats and artichoke on a parmesan fondue as an appetizer. The artichoke was excellent, along with the cured meats (exceptional shoulder). We then ordered two pumpkin tortelli for the first course. We loved them: delicate, not overly sweet, the pasta was just the right thickness, and the portion was generous. Water and Lambrusco rounded out the meal. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the food and service.

The staff was very helpful and courteous. I mentioned that I really liked their homemade squid ink breadsticks, and they brought them back to our table right away. The appetizers and pumpkin tortelli were excellent.
