A large room with late-antique walls and furniture, overlooking the street. Family-style. Fantastic food, fresh and sweet culatello, homemade pastries full of butter but delicious. It's a good place to stop if you're passing through.

The decor is rustic, but after meeting the staff and eating a truly respectable tomahawk, you'll want to go back. The food was good, the staff were very kind, and the food was fabulous, accompanied by a good wine and beer list. What more can I say? They have very fair prices. Definitely worth a try!

We stopped for lunch today, we had the mixed cured meats/cheeses appetizer..... very good, then porcini tortelli, very good and my wife risotto with radicchio and zola...... very good..... more than generous portion........ I highly recommend

A welcoming venue, located in an easily accessible area with parking available. The food is excellent in quality and preparation, as is the discreet and efficient service. Exceptional value for money. It's a favorite spot for celebrating family occasions. Highly recommended.

I stopped here with my mother and my two dogs: a very welcoming and simple place, we had some delicious cold cuts and a wonderful risotto, the wine was good too; an honest place and one to return to.

During our stay in Casalmaggiore, we dined at Osteria della Bassa, and we can honestly say we had a true experience of traditional Po Valley cuisine, in an elegant yet warm and welcoming setting. The location is meticulously maintained, with a refined and authentic atmosphere. One detail that particularly struck us were the antique chairs, beautiful to look at but also surprisingly comfortable, perfect for enjoying a slow, relaxing dinner. The dishes we ordered were all very flavorful and well-prepared, with generous portions and a cuisine that focuses on quality and the bold flavors of tradition. The tortelli, topped with a rich and flavorful sauce, were excellent, as was the meat served with classic polenta, intense and satisfying. The dessert was also very pleasant, simple but well-crafted, perfectly in keeping with the restaurant's style. Worthy of note is the house sparkling red wine, truly excellent and the perfect accompaniment to the traditional dishes. It has a strong character and is pleasantly drinkable, although the high alcohol content is clearly noticeable, making it even more authentic and authentic. The service was friendly and professional, helping to make the evening enjoyable from start to finish. We highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to savor authentic Po Valley cuisine in an elegant yet authentic setting, ideal for a romantic dinner or to round off a day of sightseeing between the Po River and Sabbioneta.

We went for lunch. A casual place. We recommend making a reservation. As for the food, I have to say it was very good; the tagliatelle with truffle and sausage was delicious. The cheeses were also excellent, although the prosciutto was a bit young, while the coppa and salami were delicious. Tagliatelle with venison ragù, I have to say, had a bit of ragù, but it was good. The chocolate salami was decent; I wasn't crazy about it. The waiters were kind but not very attentive; we had to ask for the same things because they'd forgotten them. Overall, I have to say it was decent, but the food was truly worth it. Excellent value for money. I just recommend paying a little more attention to the ambiance, which is a bit chaotic, and being more careful with your orders. Recommended

A wonderful osteria! The food was incredibly plentiful, everything! For six people, we had two cured meat appetizers, which were incredibly generous (and almost left over), and the first courses were delicious, especially the radicchio and gorgonzola risotto, which was a delight. Truly a fantastic discovery, I'll be back!

Chosen by chance, mostly because of its proximity to where we were, we were pleasantly surprised! The culatta appetizer with truffles and mixed cured meats was superb, the porcini mushroom ravioli and tagliatelle with hare ragù were excellent!! It will definitely be a regular stop again when we're in the area! I'm only posting the photo of the tagliatelle because the rest was literally devoured...

Excellent first courses, but the second courses could be improved. The waiter was very kind. If there are a lot of people in the dining room, it can get very noisy. Generous dishes, fair prices. Well done!
