Beautiful, typical Italian. That's what you're looking for in Siena!
Good food and friendly attitude.
If you have arrived here, you must order Pici Cacio e pepe!
Siamo venuti a pranzo.
An excellent restaurant with typical Sienese dishes. The pici with cheese and pepper were wonderful. The platter with Pienza cheese was delicious. Excellent combination with honey. The dessert was of supreme delicacy (we complimented the Chef. The owner is a very kind person who knows how to give you the best advice. My compliments indeed. I went back the next day!!
I stopped at this restaurant on a Sunday evening while the city of Siena was anxiously awaiting the draw for the last contrade who would participate in the Palio in July. I was alone in the restaurant and the owner took the time to explain to me the dishes and the representations of the Fantini (jockeys) on the wall.
The pasta dish and dessert were excellent. Little by little the restaurant filled up with the contradioli of the Contrada del Nicchio (the inhabitants of the neighborhood) who came to eat after having taken their place in the Piazza del Campo to see the Estrazione (extraction or drawing of lots from the last contrade).
I recommend this welcoming little neighborhood restaurant!
