What a wonderful place, I just came across this restaurant via Google and it is perhaps one of the best I've found after 2 years of living in Italy. I selected the tasting menu, but only with starters and a pasta dish (you can also get one with a second main dish) and it's was a taste sensation as 7 (yes 7!) amazing starters came out and at only €28 for this tasting menu it was unbelievable value especially for the quality of the food and service. You must go if you are in Gallipoli!

Osteria del Vico is an absolute treat in Gallipoli. The amazing family run osteria provides some of the freshest fish around! The pastas were phenomenal as was the tuna tartare, cacio e pepe style! The ragna pescatrice was unreal! Federico and his mom were so friendly and welcoming! We can’t wait to visit again. Top quality in Gallipoli!

Dall’ antipasto al dolce tutto buonissimo e di ottima qualità, si percepisce da ogni piatto la dedizione e la cura dei dettagli. Grande disponibilità di vini. Servizio impeccabile. Ho potuto conoscere il proprietario, Federico, persona molto cordiale che ci ha fatto sentire come a casa. Qualità / prezzo a mio parere senza eguali in zona. Da provare!

If you are looking for a typical Osteria in the heart of Gallipoli, Osteria del Vico is the right place. In a small alley in the heart of the Centro Storico di Gallipoli you will find this restaurant with the flair of an osteria. The Osteria is located in an old, beautifully restored building in which the ceiling construction technology typical of the country is beautifully expressed and offers an interesting sight. At the Osteria del Vico we are not in a 5* restaurant, but in an Osteria. And if you consider this aspect, you will find an atmosphere that is inviting. The many tables are harmoniously arranged, not crowded and beautifully set. There are reviews that speak of a “messy entryway”. We have to disagree with this assessment, because we saw the reception table as typical of the country and Osteria. Typical elements of an osteria are simple furnishings and local cuisine. Much more important than a meticulously tidy reception table is the warmth with which the guests are received by both the senior landlady and her son. At this moment you immediately feel comfortable and at home. The Osteria del Vico offers an excellent wine selection. We chose a dry red wine from Puglia. The junior boss is a wine connoisseur and wine lover, because he introduced us to five different red wines from the region at our table and explained to us what sets each wine apart. With this help we were able to enjoy an excellent wine. The menu offers a variety of dishes from delicious pasta to freshly caught fish and seafood to meat dishes. We had dinner at Osteria del Vico twice in November 2024 and we were thrilled by the typical local cuisine. If you love Mediterranean, local and simple, but delicious and tastefully prepared cuisine, we can only recommend this typical Osteria with its warmth. We will spend our retirement in Gallipoli from mid-2025, and we will certainly come to Osteria del Vico again and again, enjoy the food and wine and feel good. Posto consigliatissimo. Rapporto qualità prezzo eccellente. Abbiamo cenato con un antipasto di poche portate ma do ottime qualità. Gusti selezionati e non banali. Risotto limone e tartare di tonno ottime.. Ci ritornerei e lo consiglio.

it was recommended to us... all 3 of us stayed for 3 days!! Very kind staff, delicious food and a top lady!!! We will return and I will recommend anyone coming to Gallipoli to come and visit you!! it felt like I'd known you all my life... anyway, see you after the last evening byeeeeeeeee
