Beautiful restaurant inside a cave. The service was good and the food too. The portions aren't very large (especially the ravioli). Honest prices.
We went in winter and it was great, the atmosphere is perfect for that weather.
Reservations are necessary.

It's an osteria in a beautiful building, but it also aims to be a high-end restaurant, which is why it charges a fortune for traditional dishes (five meatballs in tomato sauce for the modest sum of €14). Everything's good, though.
I think it's geared more toward tourists than locals who want to eat out for Sunday lunch.

I had lunch yesterday at noon at Osteria del Tempo Perso in Ostuni, and the experience was simply exceptional.
From the moment we arrived, the welcome was extraordinary: the two waiters were exceptionally kind and professional. One of them even spoke French, a truly appreciated detail. Despite the restaurant's fame—where you can see people queuing even in December—the restaurant has lost none of its humanity.
The setting is splendid: eating inside a cave, with its carefully crafted and elegant decor, is a unique and highly evocative experience. I received impeccable advice on my choice of dishes: the menu is extremely inviting and clearly conveys the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Determined to eat local, I followed the waiter's advice. While choosing, I was offered a homemade focaccia, a truly appreciated touch.
For my appetizer, I chose the zucchini flower tempura with ricotta and mint: delicious. But the main course was love at first sight: a typical Salento specialty, baked pasta with tomato sauce, eggplant, and provola cheese. Without a doubt, it was the best dish I ate during my entire stay in Puglia. The textures, the flavors, that almost natural sweetness... for me, it was the most wonderful culinary experience of the trip.
Even though I was already full, I couldn't resist the tiramisu—and I didn't regret it at all.
The restaurant filled up very quickly, and despite there being only two waiters, the service was impeccably managed. They worked with impressive speed and efficiency, always maintaining kindness and attentiveness towards the customers. Waiters like that are rare these days. Watching them work was a true pleasure: it was like a perfectly coordinated ballet. They moved, communicated with each other, and crossed paths without ever getting in each other's way, despite the restaurant's complex layout. A demonstration of great intelligence, professionalism, and coordination.
I didn't go into the kitchen, but seeing the speed of service and the quality of the dishes, I perfectly understood why this restaurant is so renowned.
Finally, the value for money is more than fair, considering the freshness of the ingredients, the excellence of the cuisine, and the exceptional service.
A must-see restaurant in Ostuni.
Don't hesitate: go and experience it; you won't regret it.

You wouldn't expect such excellent quality in the heart of the city!
What a gem! Incredibly delicious, local dishes served by passionate staff. They have extensive knowledge of the dishes and wines. (Sommelier on site)
