Charming place, the first impression is a dark, it is located in a basement, however the moment you are sitting, the friendly stuff is taking good care of you - trust their recommendations, we were delighted:)

Commonly known by locals as the best restaurant in town. It is a reputation well deserved. All the pastas are extraordinary. Meat courses done perfectly. Don’t miss the vegetables and desserts.

Osteria del Teatro is a magical place. You sit at a table on the small outdoor terrace and it's like sitting at the intersection of many of the world's cultures. The dishes show research in combinations but without the desire to self-celebrate, rather with the intention of maximizing the quality of the raw materials and the simple and good flavors of the territory. The service is genuine and enveloping, a hug from the lady whose name I didn't ask. I will remember her centerpieces of wild flowers, picked by her every day for her customers, and the kind and confident words she spends with them. Tagliolini with porcini mushrooms, saffron risotto, asparagus and porcini mushrooms, blancmange, all good, very good. All enchanting.

"The best restaurant in Cortona" is a high bar, and this place meets it with flying colors. Aman, our host, was charming and had great recommendations. We had the gnocchi, the filet, the fondue and the cheese plate, and it was all spectacular. The worst part of our meal was the wine - and we had a really good bottle of wine.

Non posso dire tanto sul cibo perché non ho mangiato. Posso dire molto sulla gentilezza del personale e soprattutto della Signora che reputo la proprietaria. Ordino con il cameriere ma gia' avevo problemi di stomaco. Non riesco a mangiare e purtroppo devo lasciare il ristorante. La Signora mi fa' pagare solo il primo ordinato dalla mia compagna. Tornero' sicuramente per la carineria di tutto il personale. Grazie.

E' un ambiente che mette completamente a proprio agio, piatti non scontati e carichi di gusto, personale attento ma mai invadente, sicuramente una location da proporre per un evento speciale!

18/05/2025: A great, small, and cute restaurant. We had the daily special at lunchtime during the week. There's a lovely warmth to be felt in this small, rustic restaurant. Classic Italian dishes at a fair price.
30/04/2025: A homemade lunch with a menu of the day of infinite goodness in its simplicity, mouth-watering even if I don't have it, a dessert to cry because it ends too soon, water, a glass of wine and 2 coffees... Total cost for 2 covers ds don't believe::: €30.00 uro….. to return soon after booking a little in advance…. A week more or less….. bon appetit…???? ….

26/05/2025: Beautiful location in this corner of Tuscany where Michelangelo was born. Excellent lunch with mixed crostoni and cold cuts. To finish a delicious Nocino liqueur. Thank you very much. Recommended. 😍😍
27/04/2025: We come here every year with the Fratres group. Everything is delicious and plentiful, always a guarantee. I recommend it for any occasion
