Osteria Del Teatro In Cortona

We visited this restaurant several times a few years ago and I just had a very disappointing return. The food has gone from delicious to very average. A real shame.

We visited this restaurant on our honeymoon and it was one of our favourite’s in Tuscany. They made us feel so welcomed and celebrated. Food was supreme. Fresh pasta is to die for. Prices are very reasonable and service is good. We hope to be back some day!

We were very excited to dine here after hearing so much praise, and we had high expectations for both the food and the hospitality. Unfortunately, our experience fell short. Despite requesting outdoor seating in advance, we were placed in a small side room near the bathroom with very little air circulation, even though there were available tables outside. When we asked to please move, we were told simply “not possible,” without any explanation. Notably, we observed a couple arrive after us and request outdoor seating without a reservation, and they were accommodated right away. This contrast was disappointing and left us feeling unwelcome. While the food was fine, the atmosphere and the way we were treated overshadowed the meal. We decided to finish quickly and take our business elsewhere. We truly hope that in the future, all guests are treated with equal warmth and care, as this is what makes a dining experience memorable.

Hands down one of our best meals in Italy! Especially if you’re looking for something more plush, still with that homely feel. Highly recommend, and each dish was so consistent. Perhaps not the strongest deserts but the mains were outstanding. Thank you!

What can I say useful to a restaurant like this. Thank you!! Above average culinary experience, environment worthy of a historic home. Professional and friendly staff. We had dinner in the first room on the right, we stayed only at the end of the dinner, the owner gave us a tour of the place, showing us her personal collection of dolls.... The only Italians at dinner, this restaurant, demonstrates, once again, that Italian cuisine is unmatched. The Osteria del Teatro is one of our embassies in the world.

Ristorante nel centro di Cortona , posto retro molto caratteristico , mangiare ottimo dall’antipasto al dolce , proprietari e staff ottimi , all’altezza e professionali ma cosa ancora più importante ospitali e di compagnia.

Non posso dire tanto sul cibo perché non ho mangiato. Posso dire molto sulla gentilezza del personale e soprattutto della Signora che reputo la proprietaria. Ordino con il cameriere ma gia' avevo problemi di stomaco. Non riesco a mangiare e purtroppo devo lasciare il ristorante. La Signora mi fa' pagare solo il primo ordinato dalla mia compagna. Tornero' sicuramente per la carineria di tutto il personale. Grazie.
