My wife and I wanted to spend a day at the lake, complete with lunch, and, drawn by the excellent reviews, I decided to contact Il Nibbio. The warm welcome and friendliness of the phone call were a good omen, and we also received detailed information on how to get there, avoiding the unnecessary detours that the GPS would have suggested. Upon our arrival, Caterina greeted us in a very characteristic and familiar atmosphere. Caterina's kindness and helpfulness accompanied us throughout the lunch. We ordered an appetizer of mixed cold cuts with pickles and a portion of Valtellina sciatt, accompanied by excellent house wine. This was followed by two plates of pizzoccheri, both exceptional and generously portioned. Caterina, seeing my wife struggling to finish her plate, immediately offered to bring us a container to hold the remaining pizzoccheri to take home…very kind.
Exhausted by such abundance and quality of food, we could only enjoy three digestifs that were kindly offered.
What can I say? We'll definitely be back because there are so many other delicacies on the menu that we'd love to try soon.

Nibbio and enjoy their delicious dishes and great hospitality at truly reasonable prices!

Back after a year, I confirm all the positive reviews: the house appetizer was super-abundant and excellent, the pizzoccheri were excellent (which we didn't finish but are taking home), the apple pie was very good, and the coffee sorbet was equally good and very special. We'll be back with friends.
March 2025, we returned as a couple: the atmosphere was better. The house appetizer: sciátt, taróz, and gorgonzola were remarkable, in addition to everything else that was delicious. Pizzoccheri: always excellent (nothing to envy of the University of Teglio). Scottadito with polenta taragna: appreciated. The homemade strudel: excellent.
We returned, as is now customary, for our birthday. Today I'll add that both the porcini mushroom risotto and the veal with tuna sauce are excellent. We're taking home two portions of pizzoccheri, which are a must.
We returned as a couple for Ferragosto 2025, despite the heat and the traffic problems.
Set menu: Sciátt and salad, taróz, cured meats and pickles, cheeses and sauces. Pappardelle with venison, pizzoccheri and rice with prosecco. Sliced steak with lamb's lettuce, stewed rabbit with salad and baked potatoes. Pineapple with ice cream and raspberry panna cotta. Coffee, with the usual flasks of grappa, limoncello, and licorice.
Obviously, we didn't manage to eat everything... but there's plenty of trays, and we'll continue at home!
Easter lunch today: excellent as usual, with great courtesy and a "gift" for everyone present.
PS: I read a negative review (from a well-known "guide" with fewer than 10 reviews): I fully agree with the prompt response.

While it is quite tricky to get to this spot, it is definitely worth the effort, because the Food is absolutely great. Don’t get discouraged by the way it looks from the outside, as it is a True hidden gem for an authentic dinner.
You can tell the food is made with care and Passion for local recipes. Try also the Home made cakes, which are great.
The Service is really nice and dedicated, sth You don’t see that often anymore.

One of the best trattorias in Colico at a truly affordable price.
In my humble opinion, the best schatt I've ever eaten.
The first courses were excellent, both the pizzoccheri and the blueberry spaghetti.
The rib-eye steak was excellent.
The stew was also very good.
Upon arrival, they bring you a small entrée with bread and cherry tomatoes.
At the end of the meal, they bring you flasks of laurel grappa, licorice, and white grappa.
The owners are very kind, easy-going, and super available to answer any questions.

A simple and welcoming place, with knowledgeable and helpful staff, but above all... the food was simply truly delicious!!! The only thing we can say, which isn't a criticism, but a suggestion: the beverages. We couldn't imagine not having local wines and beers; it doesn't require a huge investment, but we think it's important for a complete experience. See for yourself and decide for yourself. In any case... highly recommended!!!
