Excellent quality of food and wine!!!!

A hidden gem, but a 5-star restaurant from Olter. Both for the kindness of the staff and the food and service. The grilled lamb was tender and flavorful. The vegetable and legume soup paired with bruschetta, cheese, and sauces was superb. An experience worth repeating and a must-try for future occasions.

We stumbled upon this osteria by coincidence during a business trip along the Strada Statale 78 Picena, which leads to Ascoli Piceno. The exterior of "L'Osteria del Castello" is undoubtedly unattractive. From the start, we felt a bit unpretentious. My friend from Naples kept telling me it looked like a restaurant with little character. However, we would soon discover the exact opposite! First and foremost, I'd like to mention the kindness of the owner herself, a "madam" with a big heart, devoted body and soul to her profession! While we waited, she offered us a basket of local walnuts. Later, seeing as the other customers were enjoying their meal for a long time, she offered us a small platter of cured meats and cheeses, along with various compotes to match—a friendly and sincere gesture that was greatly appreciated! To cut a long story short, all the dishes we ate were beautifully presented and of good quality. Quantity is the highlight of this osteria, which I highly recommend for its authentic flavors and the chef's passion. Very fair prices!
