Osteria Del Castello In Alto

Prices are too high. When they bring wine, it's served directly in a carafe. Absolutely NOT. The bottle of wine must always be brought to the table. An experience I won't repeat.

It wasn't a pleasant evening on Ferragosto. Aside from the excellent cheese and cured meat platters, the fried anchovies were too salty, the Ligurian-style rabbit had too much thyme, the carbonara was too musky, the ice cream was barely adequate, and the carafe of prosecco at €18 was decidedly overpriced.

August 6, 2025 We returned to this restaurant, the first time since the management changed. I must say, everything was perfect: the welcome and friendliness, the dog stayed peacefully, given his age, and the service was also excellent. Quality dishes, definitely worth trying again. The price is high, but justified by the quality of the ingredients. It's no longer a Sunday trattoria or a place for lunch, but the philosophy has changed; it's become a refined restaurant in every sense. These are choices, no doubt about it: I wonder if Alto is the right place. We'll see. Review for the previous management I recommend weekdays, for those who can. It's quiet, and the menu is more interesting, including Alto's signature pasta.

A beautiful place! The setting, with the small square and the church, is magnificent. The owner is very helpful. The starters are generous and the pasta is divine!

We went for dinner yesterday for the first time. The parking was great. We were warmly welcomed, and Vittoria's service was excellent, attentive and prompt. The tagliolini were delicious, with plenty of freshly grated truffle. We'll definitely be back to try the pizza. Patricia and Riccardo

Great place, delicious food at an affordable price. Even though we don't speak Italian well, we managed to communicate. The service was incredibly friendly, especially the waitress, who was from Brazil (even though she's Italian). Highly recommended!

Fantastic service and atmosphere. When you buy a cheese and ham platter, the chef himself comes out to greet you. From pizza to pasta, everything is delicious. The Brazilian lady deserves an extra star ☺️, she's a wonderful girl.
