Amazing place. Romantic setting in old part of Cremona. Brilliant chef who concoction daily surprises. Wonderful departure from routine Italian fare.

We were here as a group and didn't have a great meal. The appetizer was a good selection of cured culatta from the Gardani reserve, but we'll skip the first course. The person I believe is the owner romanticized the entire menu before we ordered, and we had very high expectations. We were disappointed after trying the appetizer; a simple pasta dish with eggplant became Molise-style with eggplant caviar, which didn't taste like much, if anything; the pasta was cooked well, at least.
Finally, the service was lacking. He didn't bring us bread, so we had to ask for it. When he took away the cutlery, he left some of it there until the end of the meal. Finally, my colleague's coffee cup was a hair thick.

Wonderful osteria. Very civilised environment, on a quiet square in front of a church . Relatively few tables, all with white, pristine table clothes on. The chef comes before taking your order and explains every dish (the ingredients, their mostly local origin, the way he cooks the dish) on the menu which is not long but has something for different tastes, including otherwise hard-to-please teenagers. The food was great, with seasonal ingredients, as was the wine. The staff was also very polite and discreet. Not sure how hidden a gem this osteria is, as Cremona was visibly on holiday mode in late July with many restaurants closed, but it is definitely worth visiting.

Great food, very friendly staff, and, above all, off the beaten tourist track. Apart from us, only locals were there. Highly recommended. We were very glad we followed the advice of two locals.

The best! A quaint little restaurant in the center of Cremona where traditional cuisine meets innovation. The chef is incredibly friendly and professional, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Osteria degli Archi is a must-visit for anyone passing through Cremona.

We sat at the tables outside in the courtyard of the church in Piazza San Michele for lunch. Chef Manolo is clearly very passionate about the food he cooks, the origin of the ingredients and showing his patrons a good time. Chef Manolo walked us through every item in the menu, explaining where the ingredients are from and the motivation behind some of the dishes. The food, although simple, was absolutely amazing. The wines (by the glass) paired perfectly well with the dishes we had.
Pro tip: Don’t skip dessert. The peaches poached in dessert wine with hazelnuts was out of this world!
