Ok.....visiting the area from United States and happened along this restaurant by a local we met on the train going up to the town. We would have never found it otherwise. We were ushered back to the back private room which was decorated very traditional like we are home around the table.
Now, nobody in our group spoke Italian at all, and the owner/host spoke no English. It was a comedy of charades, google photos and speaking slowly in our own languages thinking the other would understand!
It was so fun! All of us were laughing and we eventually understood each other and ordered our food. We loved every dish we got and had such a great lunch!
It was one of our highlights of our cruise. We will always remember the owner/host laughing along with us as we all tried to understand each other and in the end, the universal language of good food united us all together.

Friendly staff, excellent quality food, I also highly recommend trying the platter with cold cuts and cheeses, really delicious and plentiful, plus all the dishes we ordered were delicious and plentiful!!! Honest prices!

Absolutely give this tiny, family run restaurant a go.
Delicious food, friendly service, keen prices, quiet setting and a cat logo. What’s not to love.
Hand written menu (Italian only but don’t let that put you off - everything is delicious).
The bruschetta with lard was a work of art, the pasta was cooked perfectly and the ragù had real meat. The spaghetti with small prawns and guanciale was a perfect balance.
A short walk from the train station we went past the Central restaurant and it was full like from a bus tour. I’m so happy we chose Osteria Mia.

Excellent experience, good service, possibility of bringing the dogs which otherwise I would have had to leave in the car and given the heat this would not have been the case.
