Perfect! A must-try if you're looking for traditional, sincere, yet not at all cheesy cuisine. Run by young and decidedly passionate people. I recommend trying the tiramisu because it's truly remarkable. Excellent!

Everything was excellent, the best place I ate in Rome! I return every chance I get to try traditional dishes, as well as many new and delicious treats. There are various vegetarian options and excellent seafood options. The food is truly excellent, the place feels like home, and the staff is exceptional. Everyone is friendly and helpful; I can't find anything wrong with it. It's truly rare to find places with this quality-price ratio in Rome. Highly recommended!

If you're looking for an authentic Italian food experience after days battling "tourist traps" in Rome, this is the place. We tried to go to the restaurant on our second day in Rome, and like every good establishment in the city, they had closed because the food was already gone. A good sign. We then returned on our last day. Located in the San Lorenzo neighborhood, Osteria da Marcello, on the first page of its menu, already presents the restaurant's concept (see first image attached). There, the restaurant presents a manifesto of its authenticity, which seems to be a protest against a Rome that is increasingly lacking in truly regional experiences. As a differentiating factor, they claim to have ingredients that are harvested 0KM away from the restaurant, proving that they are not empty promises like most restaurants in the city. We ordered The Innkeeper's platter (see image 2), a generous portion of cheeses, salamis and prosciuttoes, accompanied by jam and honey, which was an incredible experience (one of the best cheeses I've ever eaten). The restaurant, however, could have made it clear that the price of the portion listed on the menu was only for one person. If there are two of you, the price doubles, even without ordering two. Despite this experience, when I went to pay the bill, they realized my girlfriend and I hadn't understood this, and therefore charged only 5 euros for the second portion, which I found very considerate. Later, as a main course, my girlfriend ordered the Tonarelli al pesto di menta (see image 3), one of the most unique and interesting pasta dishes I ate on the trip. As the name suggests, it's made with mint and has a very refreshing taste, something I considered innovative for the world of pasta. This pasta was recommended by one of the waitresses, who was very friendly. I ordered amatricciana, which was very good. I ate better ones during the trip, but the overall restaurant experience was certainly one of the best of the trip. Finally, I highly recommend it. It's a pleasure to have an experience where you don't feel cheated, like most restaurants surrounding tourist spots or located in the center of Rome. The city's tourism has grown significantly since the pandemic, and having an establishment there is no longer the cultural aspect it once was – now it's a business. On Easter Sunday, we found this osteria with two other couples. A very kind young lady greeted us in the morning (we later learned she was the chef's wife), and we booked for 8:15 PM. In the evening, strangely enough, we arrived promptly at 8:15 PM, our table was ready, and we were greeted warmly, with smiles and kindness. They promptly brought us the menu and took our orders. Everything arrived promptly and flawlessly, from appetizers to dessert. I'd like to highlight the excellent carbonara, the excellent amatriciana, and the delicious artichoke to the judges. A friend of ours had the octopus with almonds, honey, and mashed potatoes, which she said was delicious. The tiramisu was excellent, and I thank you for the special liqueur we were offered. The atmosphere was family-like; even the guests, hearing our accent, rather than making us feel out of place, made us feel part of the evening. Having come with my family and ended our Easter celebrations here, I can say I was looking for this. Not the typical Roman restaurant with its slightly over-the-top witticisms, but one that stands out for its politeness, hospitality, courteous manners, and excellent cuisine where you can taste the passion behind it. Thank you, chef, and thank you also for bringing us your dishes and delighting us with your cuisine. I will return and recommend it to everyone.
