How lucky to have dined in this place!
I would have liked to take photos of the dishes but the excitement of eating was too much!
Homemade appetizer based on cured meats, local cheeses, a rye bruschetta with lard and honey that is simply divine. Followed by a plate of tortelli with wild herbs and a picanha with mango sauce and a side dish of courgettes with mint. Just perfect, everything. Wonderful welcome, super nice and friendly staff. Amazing chef! Reservation is highly recommended. Come by and you won't regret it!

I went up to Cerveno to visit the sanctuary of the Santa Crus, and I ended up, unexpectedly, having two (rather than one) religious experiences. The first, obviously, was the visit to the sanctuary. The second, however, was the religious, almost mystical experience lived at the Concarena tavern: dishes cooked by God, with a heavenly flavour. Let's be clear, such religious fervor did not induce me to take the vows (also because I am not a believer), but it did push me to give the Concarena tavern the highest marks: a well-deserved five stars.

I stumbled upon it a bit by chance, in my gypsy wandering in Val Camonica, at the Osteria Concarena and I must say that none of my expectations were disappointed.
It has the appearance of a tavern, with a magnificent watermill at the entrance and very appropriate furnishings for the context.
Even the innkeeper who welcomed me with extreme kindness looked exactly like an innkeeper. Exactly as you would imagine.
The menu, like a good tavern, focuses on local and artisanal products. Simplicity and the fun of discovering not only the magnificent landscapes, but also the tastes of this magical valley. This too is tourism, this too is travelling. And I like to travel.
The dishes I chose, which arrived at the table in a flash, were the mixed platter: all local, all very tasty, just the right size. The local salami (the origin of which I don't remember) and a smoked cheese that was swoon-worthy stood out.
I sincerely regret not having taken the first, but only a second: dried lake fish over wholemeal polenta. An excellent combination that recalls a poor dish, from our Italian tradition, those with the taste that stays in your head. Perfect.
Followed by saffron panna cotta with strawberries. Simple, good.
Coffee, fair bill for how I was treated and not even the card asked for the PIN, sealing the perfect lunch break.
What can I say, it's been a long time since I could find even one flaw in a place where I ate. I love places like this: apparently simple, but well thought out, with attention to detail and which push micro-tourism with a gastronomic proposal that is a journey into the territory.
Compliments. I will come back and recommend it.

Small pearl of a tavern located in a magnificent little-known place like Cerveno.
Few seats but very kind and friendly owner and cook.
Really great homemade food.
We ate a spectacular crouton with wild garlic!! A fantastic cheesecake, not to mention the
gnocchi and deer.
Both the tavern and the town are worth it! 🔝

Regular customers but the Easter lunch, à la carte, was sublime, from the starter, to the tagliatelle, to the ricotta ravioli, casoncelli but I can't define the gnocchi with wild garlic... rosolio guys, the kindness of Flavia and her husband in making you feel at home, pampered by their combinations. Happy Easter to you too. Giulia Aldo and co
