Osteria Chiana is my favorite place in Rome. I often go there for lunch, especially when I need to work in peace. The food is very good, the portions generous. The Roman first courses are excellent, the meatballs spectacular, and the desserts delicious. The staff deserves a special mention: they're truly kind and welcoming. I highly recommend it.

I had a very pleasant dinner at this Roman "Osteria."
Very varied menu, with several off-menu dishes listed on a large portable chalkboard.
Pleasant atmosphere...
Quick service
Knowledgeable and courteous staff
Excellent traditional dishes
Very busy atmosphere, so advance reservations are recommended
Affordable, "normal" prices
Excellent food quality.

Very good food, welcoming place. The only thing I don't understand is that they don't do carbonara, while all the other pasta dishes are available... Very strange for a Roman osteria.

Everything was so carefully prepared, with fine - quality ingredients. The prices were logical . The overall quality was fine. Prefer it for sure, as it's not considered a "tourist trap" restaurant.

An excellent experience. The food was delicious, with authentic Italian flavors and very high-quality ingredients. The care put into each dish was evident, both in its presentation and taste.
The service was very attentive and friendly throughout, making us feel very comfortable. Furthermore, the restaurant has a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere, perfect for a quiet meal or enjoying with good company.
Another very positive point is the value for money; we found it very reasonably priced for the quality they offer.
Without a doubt, a place I would return to and recommend without hesitation.

I already reviewed this place about two years ago, but after frequenting it several times, I'm forced to reconsider my opinion. The location is definitely one of its strong points, on Via Chiana, in the heart of the Trieste neighborhood, just steps from Coppedè, although finding parking is almost impossible (there is, however, a paid parking lot nearby). The location is nice, but the spaces are very cramped, practically crammed together. The service is a bit chaotic: the waiters are visibly under pressure, and while they remain friendly, they occasionally experience sloppy situations, such as cutlery being placed unhygienically or plates even being placed on personal items at the table.
The food has its ups and downs: the artichokes alla giudia and the fried anchovies were very good, but the amatriciana didn't convince me, with too much pepper, soft bacon, and downright undercooked pasta. The beef cutlet was large but too dry and mostly stringy, the side dishes were decent but not perfect (cold potatoes), and the tiramisu to finish was decidedly heavy. The prices are high for what's on offer. It's a shame, because the setting deserves more, but right now the experience is too inconsistent.

Good experience. Very good dishes, daily selections. Good quality Roman cuisine. Young and knowledgeable staff. Worth considering for dining in the area.

Mediocre. The food arrived at the table in a minute, presumably pre-cooked and reheated on the spot. The service was sloppy and rude, and the prices were more like a restaurant than a tavern! It's a shame; once upon a time, this was a place where you could be sure of good home cooking.

We arrived just before 3 pm and were about to leave when the server very kindly invited us in. Our hunger was perfectly satisfied, the service was excellent, the food was superb, and the prices were absolutely right 👌🍀 HP from Munich and Alla from Kharkiv.
