Osteria Casa 28 is a welcoming place with a family atmosphere, with small but very popular spaces. There are so many people, a constant coming and going: you don't even have time to get up before the table is already reoccupied. The service, unfortunately, is not up to the turnout. The wine is not tasted, they do not ask for the meat to be cooked and they do not warn of the absence of side dishes, which affected the overall experience. Furthermore, we found it in bad taste for a waitress to serve tables with a cigarette in her mouth: it is a detail that is out of place in a context where one eats. On the food: the orecchiette with turnip tops are really delicious, a successful dish. However, those with horse sauce were less convincing, as they only tasted of tomato, without any trace of the strong taste that one would expect from this type of meat. The donkey rib arrived with an unrequested medium cooking, which did not satisfy us. The tartare, unfortunately, only tasted of lemon, and even in this case no side dish was served or reported. We then ordered the cheeses: the stracciatella was very salty and was served to us with a side of salad and tomato not indicated on the menu. Once again, a lack of clarity. Finally, the dessert menu was only partially available: half of the options were not there. The bill is not brought to the table, but you have to go to the cashier to pay, which gives a careless, almost canteen-like impression. To conclude, on the receipt we were charged for a beer that no one had ordered. After pointing this out to the waiter, the money was immediately returned to us, without even checking with the waitress whether the beer had actually been served or not. This attitude suggests that this may be a practice rather than an occasional error.

We decided to try this little place in the center of Como, we had a good time, plentiful and good first courses, good burrata and good cured meats! I recommend it!

It is very warm inside the restaurant in midsummer. The food is great!! The portions are big enough!

Locale in centro a Como non molto grande, ambiente caldo e ben arredato. Abbiamo preso antipasti caldi composti da frittata, melanzana alla parmigiana, crostino e purea di fava con cicorietta e devo dire che non mi ha entusiasmato particolarmente, ho assaggiato orecchiette alla minc-hiata e alle cime di rapa e queste non erano male ed infine gelato al mandarino, diciamo che non ho mangiato male ma non son neanche rimasto particolarmente colpito. un plauso alla focaccia con pomodorini, molto buona. Prezzo/qualità nella media (medio-alto) per un locale in centro a Como.

Nice restaurant with nice service. The starter was delicious. Unfortunately we didn't really like the main course as everything was pretty bland. We were lucky with the free table. Other guests queued for 30 minutes at the restaurant.

Location suggestiva ed interessante, che ha saputo replicare il concetto di antica osteria. personale cordiale e gentile anche se un po’ lento , piatti buoni , sapori di casa . Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo, abbiamo addirittura portato a casa il dolce !
