Osteria Canapino In Capannori

We entered this small place with about 10 tables, very nice and casual, the staff were friendly, attentive and fast. We ordered a Canapino appetizer for two, so to speak the appetizer included: truffled mortadella, ham, salami, cheese, croutons with lard and mushrooms, farinata, polenta with sauce and stuffed rabbit. We were already happy, everything was good. But we are not used to being satisfied and so we took a plate of tordelli and a sliced ​​steak with a side of chickpeas with herbs and chips. Il Canapino doesn't skimp on portions, both the tordelli and the sliced ​​meat could be eaten comfortably by two. The food is excellent and for the first time I found someone who understood how I want meat (this alone is worthy of a prize), finishing with two coffees and a Versilia dessert. Price???? €60 for two, considering the portions, the quality and service, we paid the bill happy and satisfied. Definitely coming back.

Pleasant environment inside where you can breathe the air of an Osteria... we had lunch with 2 tasty and tasty hot pici and paccheri first courses + a well cooked and tender cut of beef without annoying ribs. The only flaw was that it was served cold. Maybe it's not exactly typical Tuscan cuisine but it's worth a stop if you're in the area.

Typical - and historic - restaurant of the area, it is one of the best places of its kind in the Lucca plain. The innkeeper Pietro welcomes guests with sagacity and kindness, who can sit in a couple of rooms of a characteristic Capannori country house. The inevitable tordelli from Lucca - served both with the classic ragù and with the highly recommended oil and cheese (pecorino) - are accompanied by various traditional popular dishes: fried farmyard (chicken and rabbit), tripe, rovelline, cod. This evening we ate tordelli with ragù and cod with beans, house wine. To be recommended.

Company dinner, never disappoints, the owner is always very kind and professional, excellent service, excellent quality/price food. Then Friday evening is always very lively. We will return for other business dinners.

Typical Tuscan restaurant, welcoming and familiar. We ordered two house appetizers, a Gricia and a grilled Cinta Senese, with baked onions. Everything was delicious and plentiful (the starter was so plentiful that we even took some home... ..🙂) half a liter of wine and a bottle of water and two coffees....50 euros!!! All really very good. If you are in the area (also visit Villa Reale) you must try it!!! Really recommended. I recommend you book. .......the TOP polenta crostini with Tuscan livers and herbs with sausage!!
