Quite a nice place, foodwise, but just a bit too much going on on the plate, which distracts from the taste experience. Winelist, service and setting are good.

Exceptional restaurant!
Osteria Ballaro is definitely worth a visit when in Palermo.
I started with the Ballaro Street Food as a starter, followed by the linguine allo zafferano con sarde, a sublime dish that perfectly showcases the Sicilian flavors. The tiramisu was the icing on the cake.
A special mention goes to Giovanni, our server, who was fantastic! Not only does he know the menu perfectly and offer valuable advice, but he also gave us excellent tips for exploring the city. A true, passionate professional.
The setting is very pleasant: the air-conditioned and bright dining room makes the experience even more enjoyable.

Within the busy streets of the Palermo city center, you step into the restaurant which has a rustic vibe with stone arches, very cool interior. Food was delicious, had the squid ink busiate. Service was very well dressed and friendly, didnt pay me much mind since im the younger one but it was funny to see their reaction when they realizef im the one paying 😂

Located on a quiet side street amidst the bustle, the restaurant has a more fine-dining atmosphere. The ambiance and food are both quite upscale.
The wine list is quite extensive.
A local friend recommended this restaurant. We were greeted by truly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. We ate AMAZING, with generous portions and excellent quality. The wine was also highly recommended. I'd say it's an excellent place, and we'll definitely return for another intimate dinner.

I hold on the 5 stars because food was great but could have more taste (still very nice). The sardine pasta lacked a but of flavour. The red gambas were on point, simple dish of very high quality.
However it’s a very nice place to have a very nice dinner and would back to try many more dishes, it’s easy to enjoy your time here, very nice service and a really good wine availability.

A renowned Palermo restaurant, located in the former stables of Palazzo Cattolica, which was missing from my food and wine itinerary.
The location features two spacious dining rooms, with paving stone walls left in their vintage allure, and postmodern paintings, a blend of past, future, and culinary present.
The comprehensive menu features traditional Sicilian dishes, finely crafted with a melancholic twist by chef Calogero Branca. He uses niche products, including many Slow Food Presidia, from wines to cheeses, meat, and fish, the pride of our region thanks to small, often family-run businesses now marginalized by large-scale distribution.
Their extensive wine list features a good selection of regional, national, and international sparkling wines.
The welcome and dining room service are top-notch, with an elegant, helpful, knowledgeable, and incisive maître d' in charge of his staff.
Superb value, thanks also to an unexpected but very welcome discount.

Locale molto curato in una bella zona di Palermo.
Camerieri gentili e preparati.
Noi abbiamo preso:
-Tonnarello al nero di seppia, pomodori confit e panura croccante alla bottarga ,
-Bucatini con sarde finocchietto e pan tostato
-Cannoli di pasta fresca con sugo di pittinicchi
-Pita con pesce spada e verdure.
Qualità dei prodotti davvero alta, a ogni forchettata del tonnarello sembrava di essere trasportati in mezzo al mare.
I cannoli erano ripieni di pittinicchio che secondo me dovrebbero usare anche per altre preparazioni perché davvero eccezionale, la carne si scioglieva in bocca ed era perfetto di sapidità.
Per quanto riguarda i bucatini va riconosciuta la ricerca di un equilibrio perfetto tra gli ingredienti, equilibrio forse troppo perfetto a tal punto che il piatto risulta neutro , tutto si neutralizza e non c’è un gusto in risalto.
Davvero ottimo il pesce.
