A beautiful, quaint restaurant with a lovely red room and—a few steps down—a sort of cellar room. Several signs point the way from the old town entrance to the restaurant. The service is polite and friendly. While serving the "Tagliere," she briefly explained all the sausages, hams, and cheeses to us. The cuisine is quite upscale, and the food is very tasty, which is why the prices are absolutely justified. The only thing I personally didn't quite like was the tiramisu. I completely missed the taste of coffee. It's part of the experience, though, especially since it's supposed to wake you up; hence—I think—the name: "Pull me up," meaning "wake me up." It also consisted mainly of mascarpone. There were maybe a few pavesini on top. I've heard of it with the savoiardi (spoon biscuits), but they're solid from top to bottom. That way, at least they have some bite. But below the Pavesini (or whatever) there was just a "mascarpone lake." Certainly not bad, but not particularly appealing in terms of taste. But as I said: a matter of taste. Having been there five times already, I can highly recommend it. In 2019, for example, I had the melted cheese with truffle – without honey upon request; then the pappardelle al cinghiale; or the simple lentil soup. This time we had the tagliere, the pasta with capra, and each of the duck breast and beef, I think. In 2019, we had an appetizer that was extremely complex; hence the numerous photos. Very interesting back then was this kind of meatloaf with balsamic vinegar; but half as thick as in Germany. It tasted much more refined, though. The house wine was also surprisingly good: only €8 a liter back then. By the way: the pool was, of course, very clean. Parking is convenient and free in front of the circular square in front of the pedestrian bridge over the Nera River. It's great that this restaurant exists: highly recommended, as it combines typical Umbrian cuisine with high quality.

The staff is extremely kind and attentive, making you feel right at home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The meat and cheeses are from family farms: tender, flavorful, and expertly cooked. And the truffles... the real thing, fragrant and intense. The quality-price ratio reflects the attention to every detail. Highly recommended!

A very charming place, despite retaining its rustic feel. The staff is very friendly, and the food is excellent; many of the ingredients come from their own farm. Highly recommended.

Dinner with daughter and grandchildren, perfect! Friendly and courteous welcome, spectacular dishes that even delighted the grandchildren, who are usually rather boring. The little one said he'd never tasted such a good tiramisu, and the girls wolfed down their plates! Strangozzi and ravioli, then veal and baked potatoes. Excellent desserts and absolutely reasonable price. Congratulations!

The restaurant is accessible on foot after a short uphill climb: a small effort for a generous reward! From the wine to the wonderful fresh truffle pasta dishes, from the antipasti to the lake fish, here you'll discover the full power of Umbrian cuisine. Special thanks for the attentive, meticulous, and above all, friendly service. The tartare is highly recommended!

Abbiamo trovato per caso questo posto già un anno fa e quest'anno siamo riandati per verificare la scelta fatta l'anno prima e non c'è siamo assolutamente pentiti.Veramente da consigliare sia come qualità ed anche per il prezzo.

Le recensioni sono strettamente legate a gusti personali e a confronti con altre esperienze gastronomiche ,soprattute nelle stesse località. Incomincio con il dissentire con chi ha mosso critiche in merito alla educazione del personale.Accoglienti ed educati. Abbiamo preso una tagliatella al tartufo pregiato , extra del menu,strangozzi al tartufo e pancetta ,non vorrei sbagliarmi ,e due crostoni di polenta con salsiccia ,carciofi e patate " ignoranti" come definito da loro. 1/2 litro di vino della casa.E' molto più vicino ad un ristorante che non ad una osteria .In osteria ci si aspetta cibo buono ,semplice con i sapori di una volta. La qualità è buona .Ma consiglerei allo cheff di spingere di più , I sapori ,soprattutto dell'extra ,non erano molto presenti.Maggiori negli strangozzi. Le tagliatelle non erano delle vere e proprie tagliatelle ,leggermente più sottile .Ma fatte in casa. pecca veniale. I due crostoni decisamente down, purtroppo .L'idea c'è ,ma deve esserci più spinta su i sapori. Il crostone di polenta anonimo e poco "crostone".La cosa più buona di questo piatto sono state le patate.Vino non eccezionale. A mio giudizio il prezzo è un poco più alto del dovuto, e la quantità non eccede.In osteria ci si aspetta delle porzioni un pò più importanti..Se devo dire che ho mangiato male ,no.Ma mi aspettavo di più.peccato ,perchè le idee ci sono ed anche la qualità del cibo.Infine vorei fare una considerazione personale che nulla ha a che fare specificamente con questo locale. Io avrei speso volentieri 25-30 € per una bottiglia di Sagrantino .Ma non l'avrei bevuto tutto.Forse un poco più di un calice. Ma in Italia c'è questa maledetta abitudine di avere delle remore per un doggy bag. Importante per ridurre gli sprechi ,ma anche perchè quello che paghi devi avere. All'estero è quasi una abitudine.In Italia no,Parte dovuta ad imbarazzo degli avventori,parte per una scarsa abitudine dei ristoratori. Spero che lo cheff segui i miei consigli.Perchè le idee e la qualità ci sono.

Ristorante Apollinare

13/10/2025: Featured in our favorite Michelin guide, L'Apollinare is an elegant restaurant housed in a former convent in the historic center of Spoleto. It's intimate and cozy, the table lit by a small lamp; the dishes are excellent, solid, and enjoyable, without frills but never banal. The service is attentive and courteous. An excellent lunch. A well-deserved Michelin mention.
