Found by chance while wandering around Siena, a pleasant surprise. Traditional dishes with a touch of originality that's hard to beat. Really fair prices for the area.

I spent Saturday lunch in this small and well-kept osteria in the centre of Siena, an experience that I am happy to share because in addition to traditional food with some hints of modernity, I found essential and attentive service that could only enhance the experience.

A beautiful little osteria not far from Piazza del Campo. They delighted us with their dishes (there were six of us and we tried practically everything!) and their friendly service. They were helpful and always ready to accommodate our requests. If you're looking to spend a wonderful day in Siena and don't know where to eat, I highly recommend this restaurant!
P.S.: The capocollo and coconut-filled ravioli with coconut sauce are one of the best things I've ever eaten!

A small osteria we found while strolling. The beetroot risotto with gorgonzola was good, although the portions were quite small. So was the trio of pecorino cheeses, which, however, were mostly flakes. The cod portion, on the other hand, was generous and good. Friendly staff.

A small osteria reached by continuing along Via dei Banchi di Sotto, fortunately slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of Piazza del Campo. Simple, authentic cuisine, made with quality ingredients. The only noteworthy detail, when deciding what to eat, is that it doesn't just offer home-style Tuscan cuisine, but also experiments with less traditional recipes. Quick, courteous service, very simple (something I like). Fairly priced, for a place that fortunately (and with good will) still stands out from the more commercial, tourist-pleasing establishments that Siena is now full of. Recommended.

This osteria has been featured in specialized guides for years, so we went on faith. We really appreciated the simple menu, which ranges from meat to seafood, with a few well-thought-out and executed dishes. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the attention to preparation. The service is also excellent, with polite and courteous staff who are never intrusive. Like a true osteria, and unlike many tourist restaurants, they don't have two sittings but take reservations while the kitchen is open, making space for those who arrive whenever possible. I'm not giving it five stars solely for reasons related to my personal taste: the menu does feature traditional Tuscan dishes, but also other options. Personally, when I'm in this area, I prefer eating traditional, home-cooked local food. I recommend it if you're looking for an authentic, quality osteria with a varied menu that's not limited to Tuscan cuisine.

Osteria Babazuf was recommended to try fresh white truffles on pasta and they did not disappoint. Our pasta was delicious and delicately flavoured with beautiful truffle and the perfect serving size, and the octopus was also enjoyed. The staff were friendly and the restaurant filled up with lots of people for Sunday lunch. I would definitely dine here in this cosy osteria again. Grazie mille!
