Relaxed fine dining. They let us in in jeans. It was a last minute Boxing Day supper, recommended by our hotel in Radda. We tried a range of their foods, everything excellent. Beef cheek, egg crostini, vegetable terrine, even insalata mista was excellent.

Probably the best restaurant in the country. Honorable mention for the staff, very young and highly trained. We had a nice evening and it's always nice to see things like this.

Outside the very center of the town, indeed, near a river and a small bridge. A very inconspicuous restaurant, but delicious cuisine (especially the vegetable antipasti with truffles!!!), very nice waiter service.

I’ve been to Osteria Al Ponte four times (so far) in three days with my family. Yes, one day we had lunch AND dinner on the same day! The reason why we’ve been back so often is because the food, the staff and the atmosphere are simply outstanding. Let me start with the food. I’ve had the beef cheeks, the tartare, the risotto, the deconstructed burger and the Florentine steak. All matched with a local Prosecco. I was in heaven, being gluten intolerant and often struggling to find any decent yet let alone delicious food. I’m so happy when I eat here and will end up trying all menu items by the end of our two week stay in Tuscany. Now to the staff. I was amazed at the expertise, attention to detail, respect and warm welcome. By our second visit we felt like family. Alma and Ado (the owners) and their staff are outstanding people. And finally the atmosphere. We’ve dined inside and outside. It’s a casual atmosphere so you don’t need to dress up, but you can. Inside feels almost like a fine dining experience. Outside is classic Italian casual; we loved having lunch outside. This is our favourite restaurant since arriving in Italy three weeks ago. From Rome to Positano to Tuscany, this is the one.

After two weeks of dining in Italy, Osteria Al Ponte in Gaiole in Chianti delivered the finest culinary experience I’ve had during my stay. From the moment I arrived, the staff’s impeccable attention to detail and warm care set the tone for a perfect evening. I started with the risotto, which was flawlessly creamy, topped with truffles and seasoned to perfection. The main course of sliced Angus beef was a triumph, tender and full of flavor. To finish, the panna cotta was a delight—light, smooth, and the ideal balance of sweetness. What truly stands out is that despite the fine dining quality, the atmosphere felt relaxed and free of pretension. The value for money was outstanding, with reasonable prices considering the top-notch food and service. In fact, we were so impressed that we returned the next day for lunch. And the day after that, for both lunch and dinner! Osteria Al Ponte has become a must-visit in Tuscany for us, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the region. A dining gem not to be missed!

The food was delicious and very good. The service unfortunately very hectic and focused on being quick to finish your service to get the table free again. Very touristic…The prices are enormously high for what you get - there are many smaller, nicer, less touristic places where you can get the same, or even better food and atmosphere.

Antica Osteria da Bazzino

17/01/2025: We ended up in the Antica Osteria di Bazzino almost by chance and perhaps destiny wanted to introduce us to such a valid and comfortable place. The girls who took care of the room were thoughtful and welcoming and I must applaud their dedication. The dishes were all good, perhaps the pappardelle with ragù was a little off but there could be a flaw. I highly recommend going and hope to be back soon, keep up the good work.
15/01/2025: Good ravioli, not artisanal pici. I didn't enjoy anything as it was very cold, without heating.

03/12/2024: Posto tranquillo, appena sotto Pienza. Si mangia benissimo ed il proprietario è davvero simpatico e ti consiglia al meglio. Ho molto apprezzato il fatto che, conoscendo le sue portate, ci abbia "stoppato" mentre ordinavamo con un: "per adesso prendete questo e poi vediamo", ed in effetti ha avuto ragione lui. Consigliatissimo
13/07/2024: Percorrere le strade della Val d'Orcia credo sia una esperienza tra le più belle che si possano immaginare. Tra panorami mozzafiato e borghi deliziosi, dopo aver "saziato lo spirito" c'è poi la possibilità di mangiare benissimo in uno dei diversi agriturismo della zona, magari un po defilati rispetto ai ristoranti presenti nei singoli paesi, spesso troppo affollati. Già in precedenza volevamo provare questo posto, ma non eravamo mai riusciti a trovare un tavolo libero. Dopo esserci stati, capisco perché è così ricercato: alle porte di Pienza, con una vista stupenda sulla valle circostante, il locale ha pochi tavoli ed assicura un servizio amichevole con un' attenzione alla qualità dell' offerta culinaria proprio speciale. Con mia moglie abbiamo condiviso un crostone caprino e pomodori secchi, tagliata e pici al ragù, tutto a regola d'arte e con porzioni generose. Chiacchierando col simpaticissimo proprietario, ci è stato spiegato che si preferisce avere pochi tavoli, malgrado l area consentirebbe un notevole incremento dei coperti, per tenere alta la qualità dei piatti con un' attenzione speciale al cliente. La presenza di molti commensali del luogo, oltre la mia esperienza personale, confermano che la scelta è indubbiamente vincente.
