Osteria al Forno di Agnese In Bagnoregio

Excellent dinner and a wonderful experience. We stayed in Civita di Bagnoregio and our host helped us reserve a table at Osteria al Forno di Agnese. When we arrived in the evening there were only a few other tables, which made the experience feel relaxed and personal. The food was outstanding—fresh, authentic, and beautifully prepared. The service was also fantastic: friendly, attentive, and welcoming. It was the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful dinner in Civita after the crowds leave for the day. Highly recommend if you’re visiting the village.

Such a great place. I highly recommend going here if you're staying in Civita overnight. They were actually the only restaurant open in the tiny town, and they do not take advantage of that. Prices, service, and food are all great. Veto was a great server, attentive, and helpful.

A delightful discovery in the heart of Bagno Regio! We stumbled upon Forno di Agnese by chance, wandering through the narrow streets. It's a typical restaurant serving homemade cuisine since 1968... a dream! We had lunch outside on this veranda where the trees adorned with fairy lights literally embrace a lovely canopy: welcoming and quaint. Lunch? A journey through homemade flavors: the Roman-style artichoke was fantastic, not to mention the tagliatelle with white Chianina beef ragù and the pappardelle with ragù. The sweet ending was the mandarin tiramisu, unexpected and delicious! The lady who served us, Rosanna, was super kind and helpful. Highly recommended!

We were with some friends in a bit of a rush, but my friends wanted to try Italian food in this beautiful place. The kitchen was very polite to accommodate our time constraints and we were able to eat delicious food, from pasta al pistacchio with burrata to pasta with tartufo or pappardelle al cinghiale. We also had tiramisu take-away and it was delicious! An amazing way to end our the day in Civita and our trip. Thank you!

I tried Osteria al Forno di Agnese in Civita di Bagnoregio, and overall the experience was decent, with some very positive aspects and others largely down to personal taste. The restaurant is welcoming and well-maintained, with a pleasant atmosphere that makes for a pleasant lunch or dinner. The only small point: the air conditioning occasionally blew out cold air, which can be a bit annoying if you're sitting nearby. The appetizer was definitely the highlight: very good, varied, and beautifully presented, with a selection that allows you to sample multiple options and start the meal with satisfaction. The first courses had rather strong flavors that I personally didn't enjoy, but these are subjective preferences. The amatriciana had a very intense flavor of guanciale, almost excessive, as if the rind had also been cooked; it also wasn't crispy, which I think would have helped balance the dish better. I would have preferred the pappardelle with wild boar sauce red, but that's also a personal and fairly common choice. Overall, the sauce had a strong spicy flavor that, in my opinion, overshadowed the meaty flavor. A final positive note was the Nutella crepe, which was truly delicious and indulgent, a pleasant end to the meal. The prices are high, but in line with those in Civita, where tourist prices are generally high in all establishments. In short, a welcoming restaurant with an excellent appetizer and cuisine with very strong flavors: ideal for those who love intense and spicy flavors, while those who prefer more balanced flavors might find them a bit strong.
