Excellent Osteria located in "La Vucciria," a very picturesque area worth visiting if you're in Palermo. A lovely location, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff are incredibly friendly and professional. Marcello, one of the owners (Giovanni and Salvatore, the other two brothers, if I remember correctly), invites you in and explains the menu and various specialties in a friendly, yet unobtrusive manner. They're young, cheerful, and passionate about their work. We had the classic spleen sandwich and octopus sandwich, both very good, and the pasta alla carrettiera (excellent), with fresh, top-quality ingredients. Highly recommended.

We arrived around 5:00 and ordered everything as normal. Other people were sitting and waiting, also without eating. Suddenly, at 6:15 p.m., dishes started flying out of the kitchen, one after another, for the entire restaurant. It looked like they only opened at 6:00 p.m., which is actually quite likely, because we didn't go to another restaurant because they said they didn't open until 6:00 p.m., but at least they gave us a heads-up. It was a bit bland, and the food wasn't exceptional. Plus, it was cold in December because the doors to the outside were wide open.
