Osteria al Cappello In Udine

Authentic small osteria with local specialties. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Went there with a group and we were thrilled.

We had dinner on a Saturday and perhaps this influenced our experience as it was not positive. Meanwhile several dishes were sold out even though it was around 8.45pm, we had a frico with polenta, asparagus and eggs, some aubergines, all passable and we found better in other trattorias in Udine. The wine however was excellent. The service was fast and the staff was friendly. The online price. Given the positive reviews, we hope it was just an unlucky evening.

I went there for dinner because it was listed in an article on typical places in Udine, but in reality it had very few typical dishes and I found them less well looked after than in other taverns in the city. We were not bad but without infamy and without praise; the same goes for the service, quite efficient but no empathy. Prices are not high.

Very simple but friendly restaurant. The menu is rather small, but all local dishes and ingredients. The staff is very friendly and very quick. The restaurant is simply and rustically furnished, very typical of an Osteria.

Very cozy tavern in Udine. Very nice decoration, friendly staff, we were recommended very well on what to order, and the food was very delicious. Recommended for a quiet chat in a super pleasant atmosphere. One of my favorite places in Udine.
