Osteria al Cappello In Udine

A very interesting restaurant with a unique atmosphere. The food is typical Friulian. Excellent service, and they gave us excellent wine recommendations. We opted for the Spanish tapas-style appetizers, but with typical local fillings. It was a pleasant surprise. They even sat us at a table even though we didn't reserve.

Stopped by for lunch and tried some cicchetti. Wide selection of wines. In the center of Udine, recommended.

The place is unique, the rooms are very nice and original, the service is good. The food is adequate.

The food was good, but we waited over an hour for some plates of cold cuts. There were 15 of us, so it might be difficult to manage the group, but it would be worthwhile to come and tell them about the long service times while you wait.

I stayed for four nights in one of the rooms at Osteria Al Cappello. The environment is very nice and well-kept, the room is comfortable, the staff is young, discreet and very kind. The structure is located right in the center, in a strategic point from which you can easily reach the places of greatest interest in the city on foot. The environment in which it is located is quiet, so you can rest well. The room has air conditioning, a mini fridge daily stocked with two bottles of water and one of fruit juice. It is possible to have breakfast in the room with biscuits, jam and a kettle for herbal tea/tea/coffee. It is also possible to have lunch or dinner at the Osteria: the quality/price ratio is advantageous. Recommended structure.

Very welcoming place for its history. Disappointing food for the lack of attention to local cuisine... I was looking for typical Friulian dishes, I found Piedmontese recipes.... Little quantity in the dishes, perhaps more suitable for cicchetteria. A place steeped in history but very little research into the territory, km0 should be the master, disappointed by the service and local dishes. Little friendliness and welcome, considering that it should be the best tavern, but professionalism is needed. So I wish them good work to improve the gaps. 👍🏻🍷

I'm not sure how many tourists stay here, but my wife and I spent two nights visiting Udine. Above this lovely Osteria, there are 6 charming rooms that can be booked from their website. We stayed in the Turquoise room (5). It's an incredibly spacious room with everything you need: Air Conditioning, hot shower, comfortable queen sized bed, WiFi, refrigerator, etc. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. An added bonus was eating a delightful lunch after our long, overnight journey from Washington, DC. Grazie!

Characteristic place slightly away from the crowded center of Udine. Excellent choice of quick dishes for us tourists passing through. Great variety of wines.
