Super welcoming atmosphere, top-notch service, and the food (the mushroom gnocchi are amazing), and the owner of the osteria is a real sweetheart. He told us he's retiring soon, so I recommend you go eat there as soon as possible.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and were absolutely thrilled! Authentic atmosphere, excellent food (the menu was read out loud and worked perfectly even without any Italian), and super friendly service. We'll be back!

We stumbled upon this typical, simple, family-style osteria by chance, and left with a smile. A kind, friendly, blue-eyed young woman greeted us and was very helpful in guiding us through our selection of dishes. We started with an appetizer and a main course, followed by a typical house first course, which we shared. To finish on a sweet note, a generous slice of Sacher torte. The atmosphere is quiet, frequented by ordinary but polite people, who contribute to a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. An absolutely positive review: it's not a place for those seeking refinement, but for those who appreciate old-fashioned trattorias where food, hospitality, and authenticity are the main features.

There was no cart and we didn't know what to have, but they were extremely helpful and prepared a brilliant Friuli food experience for us as a family. Great food, great service. Great place to visit to have authentic food from that region.

It's true that it's difficult to communicate in anything other than Italian, but that has its charm. The owner helps translate. The food, including desserts, is top-notch. You have to visit this place. And I might add, the personalized approach is exceptional 🤌🤌🤌

Ogni tanto vengo a Udine per lavoro da Milano e quando mi fermo la notte non posso che cenare al Canarino. È un'esperienza mistica, qui si respira la storia di Udine, la tradizione, la passione di questa gente. L'Oste, volutamente con la O maiuscola, è un signore gentilissimo che ti accoglie col suo sorriso contagioso. La scorsa volta ho avuto il piacere di passare del tempo al tavolo con lui e ieri mi ha accolto a braccia aperte. Sa come farti sentire a casa sua. Ma vogliamo parlare del cibo? Schietto, sincero e vero come tutto il locale. La tradizione è rispettata e i sapori super. Dopo una cena così dormi veramente bene, e posso anche dirvi senza sentirti appesantito. Tornerò presto, grazie all' Oste per l'accoglienza!
