This place had been recommended to me, so I had medium-high expectations, and I was a bit disappointed they weren't fully met. Location: A classic osteria, with a simple but very pleasant atmosphere. We were seated outside, where the temperature was pleasant and we could enjoy a friendly conversation with the other diners. Staff/Service: Courteous, welcoming, and attentive. We enjoyed interacting with the ladies who were truly very friendly and engaged with our "exuberant" table. Food: The appetizer was average; the crostini with lardo and a mixed cold cuts platter were fine. We also booked their mixed grill in advance (they'll let you know, so do so). It was very generous, with grilled vegetables, baked potatoes, polenta, two ribs, two sausages, bacon, and chicken. Unfortunately, we felt they took too long to cook, especially the ribs and chicken. The meat was really too dry, and both the taste and chewability were negatively affected. Wine: A good bottle of Raboso, but we felt the price was excessive, a bit marked up compared to the price of the label itself. But let's "break even" with the Prosecco we were offered, which we enjoyed, as an aperitif. It can happen, it's a shame, but I think I'll return to give it a second chance, perhaps trying other meats.

Mediocre in name but definitely NOT in fact, with generous portions and friendly staff. Definitely recommended for those, like me, who have to go for lunch. The service is prompt and the food is excellent.

We went all around Italy and found this place in accident while on a roadtrip. At the end of our 10 days, we are still talking about how Osteria Mediocre was the BEST meal of our entire trip!!!! We ate something from every part of the menu, tasted wines, and had the best conversation with our servers!!! Truly a highlight of our trip!!! So grateful for the hospitality and the most delicious food.

A moving experience, both for the quality of the food and the service. The grilled meat was superb, as were the side dishes. An honorable mention for the tiramisu. In short: Highly recommended.
