I’m sitting in the village of Prosek, sipping real Prosecco — turns out this is where it originally comes from! However, the name Prosecco was officially registered elsewhere, so locals here are only allowed to call their wine Prosekar. There’s something called an Osmiza — a tradition that allows locals to sell their homemade wine and food, but only for a very limited time during the year. You can find a list of open Osmizas online, but it’s always best to ask locals which ones are authentic and not for tourist. Let me tell you — the wine was absolutely incredible. They should bottle it as perfume! A glass of their homemade Prosekar was just €3.50. We also shared some local meats — Prosciutto Arrosto and Ombolo — and for dessert, a panna cotta that was out of this world. We spent about an hour there, chatted with the locals, made some new friends.Not a tourist in sight — just a truly local experience.
