Ortika coffee & food In Mantova

As soon as I saw the words “flat white”, I knew I was in for some caffeinated heaven. The pursuit of coffee in Italy is more complicated than it might seem. Asking for a “flat white” is often met with incomprehension so I have usually asked for a cappuccino “doppio”and that has usually given an acceptable result. A flat white (according to me) is a double shot of espresso topped with hot, but not frothy, milk. All of this was irrelevant as the lady behind the counter knew exactly what to do. The coffee was perfect! It transpires that she was the co-owner and had run a cafe in Tasmania!! So if you’re in Mantova, you have only one destination for your coffee: Ortika!! By far the best coffee I have had in Italy!! PS also had some carrot cake which was excellent.

Spectacular place, simple yet incredibly welcoming in every detail. The menu is well-chosen and carefully curated; you can feel the passion behind every dish. The price is also fair; highly recommended!

I had breakfast at Ortika with my friends and we had a great meal. I tried the golden milk with oat milk and it was delicious. I also had scrambled eggs and bacon. A very filling and tasty breakfast. Table reservations must be made by sending a message on Instagram. I gave the atmosphere 4 stars because the music was a bit too loud for the early morning hours, which I prefer to be quieter. Overall, I recommend it for brunch and breakfast.

Very nice place, we had a pumpkin spice latte, a matcha latte, and a brownie, all delicious. The barista with the beetle hair was super nice :) I'll be back!

Really nice place, kind and helpful staff, and a menu full of plant-based alternatives to cow's milk, a real boon for those like me who have trouble digesting lactose.
