Old Square In Cagliari

5 stars for an excellent bartender, as a bar owner I would definitely hire her. I didn't get her name, but she's the one who likes sours. Give her a raise, manager. Also a nice bar, although if you don't like big screen sports, avoid...

Historic place in Cagliari where you can breathe the air of Ireland. A point of reference for native English speakers. The style of the pub is pleasantly consistent with the 90s style (but not only). Composed of 5 main rooms or halls, it will leave you speechless especially the Crypt at the bottom right. Worth trying even just for an aperitif with friends but also to enjoy sandwiches and burritos! Also suitable for the younger ones who can take a leap into the past with the video game cabinet in the room at the back. Staff always available and courteous. The first room could be the noisiest also because there is a big screen to watch the games.

A place where you can eat something quickly and drink alcohol. We waited maybe 10 minutes for the burgers. The quality of the food is not great compared to the price, but the portions are filling. They offer good wine (4€)

I have been to Old Square many times and I can report very varied opinions (unfortunately). I tried almost every item on the menu and most of the time I ate more than well: I really appreciated the sandwiches, all types of chips, all the vegan dishes... There were, however, 2 occasions in which I ate terribly (and this extended to all the people with me): chips that tasted of burnt oil, carbonara with raw and soft bacon, unseasoned ceasar salad with dry lettuce, vegan tacos (usually very tasty) inedible due to too much mint. I don't know why the quality varied so much, I was very disappointed since I know that the place can offer much better. I will definitely return hoping to find the usual (?) good food, even if it shouldn't happen to risk eating so badly. For the rest, the staff is very courteous and the environment is nice and comfortable.
