17/01/2025: In the central Piazza del Popolo in Todi, I was expecting something "touristy", but Basico, in name but not in fact, turned out to be a very lucky choice!
We weren't very hungry but we couldn't help but have the inviting egg pouch on parmesan fondue, with truffle. Splendid to look at and exceptional in the flavors that support each other and enhanced by a generous dose of truffle. A rich and complete dish!
At that point there was only room for dessert, a very refined panna cotta and a "silk" tiramisu, which were also greatly appreciated!
Of note is the menu described in a creative and fascinating way and the great kindness of the staff, combined with in-depth knowledge of the dishes offered. A place to return to with your eyes closed to enjoy all these aspects as well as inspired cuisine! Thank you!
05/01/2025: Possibly one of the best restaurants where I have eaten in Italy, and we have done so in many places. Located in the heart of the wonderful medieval city of Todi. In the main square, next to the cathedral and the communal palace. The atmosphere and decoration deserve to be called luxury. Everything is clean, shiny, decorated with great taste. Entering this place makes you feel important. Very well set tables, quality tablecloths, crockery, cutlery and glassware. Everything is designed to give a feeling of beauty, which is achieved. Very professional, friendly and very efficient staff. Good cuisine, tasty dishes, very well presented. Not abundant, correct. Broad letter. Excellent wine list. Delicious homemade desserts. Obviously it is not a cheap restaurant, you may have already guessed, but for the quality offered, the service and the atmosphere described, the prices are tight, below expectations. It is a highly recommended inn, to which we will return without hesitation.
