Sorry to say that the pasta alla norma here was disappointing here compared to other preparations in Catania. The style of the dish was cool, but the larger pieces of eggplant weren't our preference and the sauce and cheese didn't stand out. The wait time is long but I don't fault them too much as it's one nonna cooking to my knowledge.

Delicious, homemade food, superb horse meat served in a unique way – well marinated and seasoned – this isn't pure steak, and you have to be aware of that. Delicious. Sometimes you have to wait, but let's be honest – no one here is racing.

I tried the typical pasta alla norma. Fresh homemade pasta with fried eggplant, tomato sauce, and ricotta... utterly delicious! Quick service and a homey atmosphere.

Our experience was quite nice in this restaurant, on the contrary some of the comments here which almost made us not to visit here. We ordered Caserecci Zucca and Norma & 2 glasses of wine / red wine and a mix salad on the side, all were quite nice and good portion wise. Waiter wanted cash payment which is fine and acceptable. I highly recommend.

We were delighted by the authentic (simple) atmosphere, excellent food (traditional preparation and outstanding product quality), and very fair prices. Anyone looking for authentic local cuisine has come to the right place. The Caprese, the pasta alla norma, and the grilled calamari all get 5 stars+ from us. €40 for water, wine, a starter, and two main courses was almost too cheap.

We found this restaurant through ChatGPT. It's highly rated on Google, so we gave it a try. The first thing that stands out is the rustic and typical feel of the restaurant: the furniture and decor. It's like being at your grandmother's house, with a warm atmosphere. Massimo, the person who will be taking care of you, is very kind and attentive. We ordered a starter for the four of us, but it looked so good (and I can confirm it was delicious) that we finished it before realizing we hadn't taken a photo, haha. Then we all ordered homemade pasta (I think typical Sicilian) carbonara (x2), one with tomato sauce (I can't tell you how delicious the fresh basil was!), and spaghetti with olive oil and garlic. We then ordered two meat dishes: grilled veal and veal with rosemary, garlic, and tarragon. We loved it. If you're visiting Catania and don't know where to eat, I recommend it. In total, with 1 delicious starter, 4 pasta dishes, 2 meat dishes, 2 Cokes, 1 large bottle of water, 1 large bottle of beer, and 2 espressos, it cost us €22.75 per person.
