Novotel In Torino

The truth is, it was well located and connected by public transport, but we had the bad luck that the tram line that stopped right next to the hotel was under construction, so we had to walk to the next stop. To make matters worse, we happened to be there during a demonstration, and public transport wasn't running, so we walked to the city center to explore it. The breakfast had a bit of everything and something for everyone.

The rooms were clean and well-appointed, although the third bed hadn't been made up and we had to wait a good half hour for the maid to arrive. A bothersome smoke smell came from the ventilation ducts and lingered in the bathroom and the room entrance for the entire stay. The staff were friendly and helpful; the breakfast was plentiful and varied. Convenient checkout at 12:00 PM.

Overall, the stay at this hotel was okay. Guests can choose between a paid underground car park with CCTV or a free, unattended outdoor parking area. The bed was comfortable, but the lift button had an issue — the “down” button on level 5 was not easy to press. The hotel provides Rituals shampoo and body wash, which was a nice touch. The nearest tram station is about a 10–15 minute walk away for access to the town. The location is quiet, though there are no nearby restaurants except those within the hotel itself.

We travelled with a group, the meals were not good. I think if they plan on catering for large groups they need to be more organised. Breakfast was terrible, not much on offer if you don't eat pastries. The hot food looked terrible, dry eggs, undercooked bacon and some sort of dry sausage. The night time meals consisted of a pasta then a meat and potatoes, not a vegetable in sight. The rooms were basic and clean, the lift was slow. The staff were friendly and helpful when needed.

The room was very clean and tidy. A bathrobe and a pair of disposable slippers were provided, as well as a complimentary 0.50-liter bottle of still water. There was a flat-screen TV. The bathroom was clean; the shower, although a bit old-fashioned and still equipped with a waterproof curtain, was new and clean. I was also pleased with the welcome and information received at reception upon my arrival. The hotel is about a ten-minute walk from the terminus of tram line 4 (temporarily interrupted due to construction work and only stops at Piazza Derna instead of the Scotellaro stop closest to the hotel), which is very convenient for reaching the city center. The hotel is located on a street with little traffic, especially in the evenings, as the surrounding businesses close during their opening hours. Although well-lit, it's not the safest street to walk alone, in my opinion (I actually preferred to rent a shared scooter to reach the hotel in the evening).

We spent three nights at the hotel. Excellent service at reception and in the restaurant. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, with insufficient dishes and cups, but the restaurant service was very good. The room was nice and clean, though a little dated. The underground parking garage was very good.

The welcome in French was perfect, the room was very clean (kudos to the cleaning lady!), the paid parking was very good, the location was excellent, and the view of the Alps was beautiful. However, the room furniture needs updating. A downside: in a room for 3 adults, my 1.75m tall daughter had to sleep on a small rollaway bed. This type of bed is suitable for a child, not an adult. The room descriptions on the Accor website are misleading, distinguishing between "sofa bed" and "single sofa." Furthermore, there's no photo of the "single sofa" in bed position, only a photo of the "sofa bed" open in bed position... This isn't very professional of Accor. The hotel wasn't full... perhaps an upgrade would have been a nice gesture... What a shame. The minibar was too expensive...
