I asked a "risotto ai funghi", and it was not good taste, neither the texture. Very expensive for a bad quality food.

TOP CASONCELLI!!!!
There's no other way to describe them. The food in general is very good, all typical of Bergamo/Valtellina, but the casoncelli are out of this world. It's a regular stop now, even though it involves a two-hour drive, but I still haven't found a casoncelli dish worthy of these. And despite their deliciousness, the portions leave nothing to be desired, quite the opposite...
Trust me, give them a chance, try the casoncelli... and next year we'll all be together to eat them!
Reservations recommended, though.

One of the best restaurants in the area. Each dish has its own distinct flavor, and we return every time to try different dishes, and we've never been disappointed. Polenta taragna is a must-try; I've never had polenta this good. Try it again and again. Highly recommended.

Last Saturday, we had the opportunity to have lunch on the Zambla Pass at the New Trapper Restaurant. After driving for miles and curving between Lake Iseo and the pass, my friend and I definitely deserved a good lunch to recharge our batteries.
As soon as we entered, we immediately noticed the sign indicating that reservations were required for the restaurant. Clearly, we hadn't called ahead! Luckily, the waitress was incredibly kind: after realizing we hadn't booked but were tired and hungry, she told us to wait a moment. And incredibly, she managed to find us a free table! A gesture of helpfulness and courtesy that we greatly appreciated.
We decided to start with a quarter of the house red (which turned out to be good) and a platter of typical salami. I thought they'd bring us a few slices, but instead they surprised us with a generous platter. Even though I'm not a huge salami fan, I have to admit that this was really good.
For my main course, I opted for the salami with polenta, a perfect and well-balanced portion, even considering the appetizer I'd already eaten. What can I say, we ate wonderfully. The experience was crowned by my friend's dessert and two coffees with water.
The final price was truly excellent considering the quality and abundance of the dishes and everything we consumed.
I will definitely return to the New Trapper, and maybe next time I'll remember to book to repay their flexibility! A highly recommended place.

Sunday lunch. We returned after a few years, and I have to say I had a good impression. The place is clean (but the bathrooms could use a frequent cleaning... some people always do it outside...). The food is good, and of good quality (but the polenta was too salty). The staff is friendly and helpful. The desserts are also really good (homemade). The garden, now well-maintained, is a great place for children to play. There are always grills available for those who want to grill their own food. There's also an electric charging station (a rare thing in the Bergamo area). So: recommended!

A beautiful place to eat truly traditional and delicious products. Truly delicious cured meats and divine polenta with porcini mushrooms. The desserts are also truly delicious. I recommend them.
