I arrive late on Sunday evening and opt for a quick pizza. I go in and the lady invites me to sit down and suggests homemade ravioli, anchovies, and Ligurian-style stockfish with polenta as an alternative to pizza. I opt for the latter, which is delicious. Excellent and plentiful. The very kind and attentive lady tells me that this and other recipes (including stuffed mussels La Spezia-style) have been passed down through generations, and having grandparents from the area, the memories of the aromas of my grandmother's cooking take me back to my childhood. I have to thank the lady because not only did she treat me to a delicious dinner, but she also made me feel like a guest, not just a customer. In short, Sunday evening I received an unexpected gift. I'll be back, because I definitely won't miss the stuffed mussels... I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 only because there's always room for improvement, but if you get the chance, go there. And if you don't, make it happen and go.
