Sunday evening I arrive late and opt for a quick pizza. Within and the lady sits me down and offers me homemade ravioli, anchovies, stockfish with Ligurian polenta as an alternative to pizza. The choice goes to the latter, a delight. Excellent and plentiful. The very kind and thoughtful lady tells me that that and other recipes (including stuffed muscles in the La Spezia style) have been handed down through generations and as I have local grandparents, the memory of the scents of my grandmother's cooking takes me back as a child. I have to thank the lady because not only did she give me an excellent dinner, but she made me feel like a guest and not just a customer, in short, on Sunday evening I received an unexpected gift. I will return, because I definitely won't miss the stuffed muscles...I give 4 stars and not 5 only because there is always room for improvement, but if it happens to you, go and indeed, if it doesn't happen, let it happen and go there.
